How can i pick up my Belkin N wireless usb adapter with my kindle fire?

The adapter you are using is a wireless receiver. You can not connect to this adapter from another device, only connect from it to a wireless Access Point or Router.

There are ways to share the Internet connection of your computer with other devices, but you have to have your computer connected to the Access Point either via cable or have a second network card. More info here and here.

Your kindle should nevertheless be able to connect directly to your wireless network. If your computer can, your kindle should too. Is there any wireless security enabled on your network? Is Wifi turned on?

How to install an wirless adapter to mi desktop

Install a wireless network adapterIn areas that are served by a wireless network, you can connect to a computer network without using a cable, and surf the Internet or connect with other computers. To connect to a wireless network, your computer needs a wireless network adapter.
Many new computers-especially laptops-come with wireless adapters. Before using your computer, check to see if it already has a wireless network adapter.
If your computer doesn't have a wireless network adapter, you can install one.
Install a wireless USB network adapter. Most people prefer this type of adapter for any type of computer, because it's easy to install.
Install a wireless CardBus or CF network adapter. For portable computers, this type of adapter (also called a PCMCIA or PC Card) is easier to travel with than a USB adapter, because it is often smaller and fits securely in the PC Card slot on the side of the computer.
Install a wireless internal network adapter. If you have a desktop computer, you may prefer an internal adapter so that you can use the USB port to connect another accessory.
The type of adapter you install depends on your computer and your level of expertise.
How to determine if you already have a wireless network adapterMany portable computers manufactured after 2000 have wireless networking built in. However, because the antenna is hidden inside the computer, it's not easy to see.
To see which network adapters are currently installed in your computer
1.
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

Click Network and Internet Connections.

Under or pick a Control Panel icon, click Network Connections.
69010-click-network-connections.gif 4.
Microsoft Windows XP displays your network adapters. Wireless network adapters are labeled Wireless Network Connection. If an adapter displays a red X, it is disconnected. If the Network Connections window is blank, your computer doesn't yet have a wired or wireless network adapter.

How do i set up wireless internet on my hp pavillion a330n desktop? Do i need a wireless card or is it built in? and where do i put the wireless card if i need one?

Hello,

Yes you need a wireless adapter.

Solution one : Get PCI wireless adapter which you will insert in an empty PCI slot inside your computer.

Solution 2. Buy a USB wireless adapter, which you plug in a USB port.
However, if my memory serves me right, that particular HP pavillion is 5 or 6 years old, and it does support USB 2.0, just USB 1.1

My advice to you is to buy a USB 2.0 PCI card to be installed in an empty PCI slot )or in the one occupied by the firewire )if not needed). This card will provide 4 or 5 USB 2.0 adapters. Then buy a USB wireless adapter, which you will be able to use with other computers.

Hope It helps.

I have an older HP laptop with no wireless capability. We have DSL with the wireless router connected to our desktop. The only way I can access the internet is by putting in the AT&T air card. I don't want...

You can connect to the Internet using your DSL wireless router by several methods.
1. If your HP has a LAN port the you can connect to your wireless router with a LAN cable (provided you have a spare LAN port on the router.
2. You can use a USB wireless adapter to connect to the wireless router.
3. You can use a PCMCIA wireless card to connect to the wireless router.
Both the wireless USB and PCMCIA wireless adapter are approx. $50, my preference is to use a PCMCIA adapter, it leaves the USB port free for other devices, such as USB memory sticks, especially if the laptop has only one USB port.

How to connect wireless router, Netgear WGR614, to my computer?

4 steps to set up your home wireless network
1.
Choose your wireless equipment
The first step is to make sure that you have the equipment you need. As you're looking for products in stores or on the Internet, you might notice that you can choose equipment that supports three different wireless networking technologies: 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g. We recommend 802.11g, because it offers excellent performance and is compatible with almost everything.
Shopping list
• Broadband Internet connection
• Wireless router
• A computer with built-in wireless networking support or a wireless network adapter

A wireless router
The router converts the signals coming across your Internet connection into a wireless broadcast, sort of like a cordless phone base station. Be sure to get a wireless router, and not a wireless access point.
A wireless network adapter
Network adapters wirelessly connect your computer to your wireless router. If you have a newer computer you may already have wireless capabilities built in. If this is the case, then you will not need a wireless network adapter. If you need to purchase an adapter for a desktop computer, buy a USB wireless network adapter. If you have a laptop, buy a PC card-based network adapter. Make sure that you have one adapter for every computer on your network.
Note: To make setup easy, choose a network adapter made by the same vendor that made your wireless router. For example, if you find a good price on a Linksys router, choose a Linksys network adapter to go with it. To make shopping even easier, buy a bundle, such as those available from D-Link, Netgear, Linksys, Microsoft, and Buffalo. If you have a desktop computer, make sure that you have an available USB port to plug the wireless network adapter into. If you don't have any open USB ports, buy a hub to add additional ports.
2.
Connect your wireless router
Since you'll be temporarily disconnected from the Internet, print these instructions before you go any further.
First, locate your cable modem or DSL modem and unplug it to turn it off.
Next, connect your wireless router to your modem. Your modem should stay connected directly to the Internet. Later, after you've hooked everything up, your computer will wirelessly connect to your router, and the router will send communications through your modem to the Internet.

Cannot connect

Hi, A couple of questions to gather more information: On what platform are you using the wireless adapter, a laptop or a desktop PC? What brand/model or motherboard? If it is a laptop, is it built-in, USB or PCM-CIA card? If it is a desktop, USB external or PCI add-in card? What is the brand/model of the wireless adapter? What is your OS? Are you using Windows Wireless Network Configuration Utility or a third party/wireless adapter manufacturer client/utility program? Have you tried NetStubler to verify if your wifi card is receiving something? Post back then we can start figuring things out. Kind regards.
