Re: emachine restore back to factory settings
I had to restore my Emachine. I have Windows Vista
(1) Go to start menu
(2) Click on all programs
(3) click on Emachine
(4) click on Emachine recovery management
(5) Click on restore on the bar across the top
(6) click on restore to system factory default
Go to emachins website and download your computer online manual try this link http://emachines.com/support/drivers.html
in this manual you should see if your computer has a recovery partition and if you can restore it. I restored my desktop by pressing ALT-F10
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Use an external memory device such as a DVD, flash drive or external hard drive to back up the data you need to save from your eMachines computer. Any data that isn't saved to an external source will be erased when the computer is restored to factory settings. Remove any discs that are in the optical drive and unplug the computer's peripheral devices, such as an Ethernet cable or scanner. Do not disconnect the keyboard, mouse or monitor. Click the Windows "Start" menu and choose "All Programs." Navigate to "eMachines" and choose "eMachines Recovery Management." Click the "Restore" tab. Click "Password Settings" if you have not already set a recovery password. Type a new password in the text box and click "OK." Click "Restore System to Factory Default." Type the recovery password and click "OK." Click "Next" to wipe the eMachines computer's hard drive and begin the recovery process. Select "Finish" and wait for the eMachines computer to restart. Use the series of installation prompts that appear on the screen to create a new user account for your operating system, set the system date and time, and set up your Internet settings.

Give it a try if you can't restore it to factory defaults using Emachine recovery management.
Usually e-machine and other pc's have a factory restore setting set up in case of an error. You can; according to emachine tap the "Alt" and "F10" keys at the same time when the eMachines logo appears. Press "Enter" and follow the directions on the screen to recover the operating system back to factory condition. I hope that helps, if those keys don't work try F11 at the emachine logo. Good luck.
emachines does not provide any factory restore option in computer, in fact you might have received factory restore disks when you bought it, which can be used to restore your computer Or you can check with emachines if they can provide you these disks

Hi there. Emachines usually gives you restore disk to restore it to factory
setting (out-of-the box). see if you can find that disk if not you can
contact Emachines and get it from them. it should not be too expensive
just shipping could be part of expense. i would say about $25. i would
call emachines and get it from them
From Emachines' website.

If your PC is still under factory warranty the manufacterer might do it for you. I did not have the restore disk but eMachines surprised me. by sending me a shipping box and then paying the shipping costs both ways. The PC was restored to factory specs and back to me in 5 to 7 business days.
You will need to include your Windows OS password.
If your PC is out of warranty most manufacterers will sell you a restore disk for about $20 plus
