I have had a condensation washer and dryer for 4 yrs, I am now getting it hooked
up. The amps in the box is 20 with a 10 gage wire. In the book saids 30A however
below that saids the North American ampres are as follows for the 13 amps for
dryer and 11 amps for washer. I had a contractor come by, he saids that it needs
a 30 amp . My question is that the washer and dryer require less electricity, will a
contractor approve the 20 amps I put in the electrical panel with a 10 gage wire?.
First, let me say get more than one bid, second make sure that the construction person
knows what they are talking about. My electrician put a 20 amp with 12 gage wire for the
washer which he thought I would need. Well it turns out the washer plugs into the dryer
which uses a 30 amp he had installed it. Turns out the guy who was to do the installation
insisted that he would have to redo this. I saved over 300.00 from his stupidity and found
a new plumber.
