Good Day;

Washed out looking video with signal. Access the service menu, "menu 0357" use the audio button to select "video chroma" adjustments, use the video button to select item "40 - AGIW", use the adjust button to change the setting to 0, then press the enter button to store the change.

Good Luck, big IRISH. PS: don't change any other setting!!

Have picture in black & white no color. audio

Hi,it definetely sounds like the color wheel.The color wheel is a rotating disc that has a gamma of colors it spins at high rpms.The light of the lamp goes through it to create the colors on your tv.When it starts to go bad you will get color distortion ,black and white picture and sometimes you will hear humming noises.Found your color wheel here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/MITSUBISHI-00-L3603-002-p/1162430.htm Have a bless one!

Black and white picture only

The color wheel is not the problem. If the spinning color wheel is impaired in its RPMs it will cause picture distortion, not black and white picture. If the color wheel looses any of its color fins, like if it is broken, there will be a loud vibrating noise inside the tv which you did not mention. Also if the color wheel is broken and doesn't spin, the tv will not start up.

The likely problem is on the digital control board or the power supply and should be referred to a local repair shop for repair.

There is an outside chance that you will receive color if you experiment with using all of the different input ports to see if you can find one that will bring back color.

if everything including sony menu is unclear, yeah cleaning may help. dirt can get inside the engine too. look at a white screen, this is your answer (or a black in some cases). any dirt on mirror or lense will be uncolored distortions. colored distortions are inside the light engine.

Bad color

Turn the color level all the way down and see if you have a good black and white picture. If your screen isnt black and white it should have a predominate tint to it. then turn the screen control for that color down to achieve the best black and white picture. then adjust your color level that should help.
