Question about Miele W1215

Miele W1215 stopped working

My washer does not show anything on the time screen. It reads _ ._ _ and none of the other controls will light up. I have drained the machine but I can get nothing to start. I have tried restarting and only the pump turn on and nothing else happens. Is there a reset button. The cloths inside are wet.

I have the same problem. My Miele W1215 quit mid-cycle, nothing would light up on the control panel, and the door wouldn't open. I had to go through the manual door-opening sequence. Have checked the electrical plug, and for any circuit break. No problems with either of those.

It means the electronics board that controls the machine has shorted out and must be replaced. Expensive if not under warranty--at least $500 for the board, plus labor. Same thing happened to mine, after 14 months of use. Am arguing with Miele to get them to pay for it, shouldn't have to completely replace the controls of the machine after such a short time.

How do I change the fuse on the 1215? Do I need to take the stacked drier off or is there a trick to open the panel open up?

Here is a link for the service manual:

Miele brand in general is a bear to work on and find parts for. I really hope the problem is just a blown fuse for your sake. If you look at the wiring diagram, you will see "S2" switch with the fuse on it. You can get at it by taking the top off and could test the fuse with a ohm meter..with the unit unplugged. You may have a bigger issue as when that fuse blows the motor could have an issue or the control itself.

My Miele w1215 has mold growing on the rubber seal around the door. Water seems to pool in there. I have been wiping after each use, but the mold smell seems to get into every load of laundry that I do. ...

Yes it can be replaced - a bit tech savvy to do, the reasons for these awful odour is that you have not/ did not know a need to run a hot wash (60 - 75 deg) cycles on a regular basis, although these monkeys that sell the machines should inform/advice you the customer that a once/twice a week cycle to eliminate the molds be recommended.

Unfortunately when it gets to the beyond stage the odour has embedded into the rubber & vitually impossible to remove.

No Power lights, anything, on a Miele W1213 washer.

make sure the door is closed properly and push it hard as this completes the light circuit on the display and then allows the unit to work.

Clean the drain by opening the door on the bottum left.
Use the yellow plastic thingy in the front of the soap drawer to do it.

You can open the machine door by pulling the yellow tag in the bottom door.
Drain the water through the filter, clean the filter and close.

Then unplug the machine and tilt it forward by about 1 foot until you see water coming out of the bottom (put towel on floor).

Plug back in and voila!

I do think that this machine is a major pain. No spin cycle and this kind of stuff to go through. Anyone want to buy mine?

Miele washing machine

All Miele washing machines and dishwashers need to fill in a required time. Flashing inlet (Tap icon) indicates that the machine can not fill in time. There are filters in the end of the hoses which connect to your water supply from the machine and filters in the inlet valves which you can get at by removing the hose from where it fixes onto the machine it'self. You will need some long nose pliers to grab the little tab on the small filter to get it out. Clean all filters and hoses. Still same problem then check the pressure of the water coming into the machine. There should be a good pressure coming out of the hose and will be difficult to stop the flow of water with your finger.
