Hi . I have an Officejet with punctured flex cable. Can you please let me know how to switch the carrier? I am getting ready to buy one from your site. Can you email me instructions on how to replace?
Thank you in advance
Rich
I am assuming you are talking about the flexible circuit board in back of the carriage assy. If so I have the same problem and need a link to CWChar's website. My "x bias spring" as described on the HP website came loose and punctured the circuit board, a common malady it seems.
Rich,
Hopefully you are talking about the flex cable running from the carriage unit to the pc board. The cable is connected on the pc board and on the carriage board found on the back of the carriage. If you have been successful in getting into the machine the entire backbone will come off by removing the 2 screws found on the left and right side and the screws holding the carriage bar in place. You will also need to disconnect the wiring going to the carriage drive motor.
Remove the carriage bar by unscrewing the two or three screws in it. Remove the spring found on the turnaround on the right side. This will release the carriage and you can easily remove the flex cable from the back side of the carriage.
Hi,
Please letme know what do you mean by Flex cable.

Lalit
