Question about Dell 3100cn Laser Printer

No printing on right side, I replaced the imaging drum but that did not solve the problem.

No printing on right side, fades and dissapears about 1-2 inches Dell 3100cn black prints fades on the right side of the paper. have replaced K, results were the same

    Not printing on right side with yellow ONLY; I replaced the toner cartridge and I have tried using the cleaning wand to clean the heads, but none of that solved the problem.

    i have the same problem with my dell 3100n. not printing on the right side. i have cleaned all of the contacts and reseated all the toner but still the printer will not print on the right side of the prints. also i have replaced the transfer belt with no luck there, i am waiting on a fuser to try and as a last step i think i am going to replace the HVPS but i will keep you all informed if the fuser of HVPS works. oh and just so there is no confusion to the rest of us corysf62. toner based printers either laser or LED do not have printheads, so cleaning them will do nothing if they are not in the printer in the first place. not bashing you just want people to have the correct information.

    Yes indeed, same problem here.  I work for a hospital which purchased 6 of these to deploy.  Every one of them is not printing on the right-hand side of the paper (1-2 inches) as it comes out of the printer.  Even though this is a color printer, 90+% of the printing is done in black only.  Having said that, it doesn't matter what color you print -- the right-hand side is always fading out/no printing.

    Have replaced every toner cartridge, fuser and the image drum with no difference.  The printer (I'm only working on one until I find out what will fix it) has been cleaned out, contacts cleaned, etc.

    Right now these things are pretty much junk.

There are two possible solutions to this common problem.

1) The Cyan cartridge may not be in 100% of the way. If the handle of the Cyan cartridge prutrudes even slightly, it can obstruct the printhead for the black developer. Remove and reinstall the Cyan cartridge and test.

2) The printhead is dirty, with some toner spillage on the printhead. All new imaging drums also include a new cleaning pad for the cleaning wand.

The cleaning wand is designed to clean toner off of the printhead. you can see this in your printer manual, but basically, just open the front cover, pull the the blue handle on the right side forward ( this opens the access cover for the cleaning wand on the right side of the printer ).

gently pull the cleaning wand out ALL THE WAY, then slide it back in ALL THE WAY. do this several times.

The cleaning wand is intended to travel across the print head in only one direction, which is why you should make sure that it is pulled all the way out.

One of these two solutions should fix your problem. If the problem is resolved, but then reappears after a short time, then you have a defective developer that is leaking toner on the print head. The color of the defective developer can be determined by the color of the cleaning pad after cleaning the printhead as discribed above.

    in response to the Yellow toners not printing on the right side, again, the solution is to remove and reinstall the toner cartridge just behind the color that is not printing. To be specific, it is the locking handle on the right hand side of the toner cartridge ( when looking directly at the cartridges from the front ) just below the one that is not printing on the right border. In this case, with the yellow not printing, when looking at the yellow cartridge, the one just below it is the black toner.



    Remove and reinstall the black toner cartridge, making sure that the locking handle is 100% in the locked position.



    Last but not least, I have seen where replacement, non-Dell toners where used and not in spec so that the handle was not fitted correctly and therefore the cause of the problem. If reseating the toner does not work, try replacing it and test again.

My HP3505 we just installed a ne black toner, now when we print it leaves a small line about 3 inches in from right side of paper every 1 inch. all the way down. Is this becasue or drum is dirty


hi

if you have not replaced the image drum (fuser) after three or four toner replacement changes, you will need to replace the fuser assembly to avoid unwanted lines and grainy or faded prints.
it is also a good idea to replace the rollers as well, if they have not been replaced either

Only prints on one side of paper. print starts to fade to nothing from right to left


Print the "supplies status" page.
Replace any cartridges that are low, Replace the imaging drum if it is low or empty.

sounds like a imaging drum is getting old. they have a finite lifespan. Especially if the machine is used frequently. Look for an imaging drum replacement. Cheers.

Canon ir 1600 my copier print copy image is very poor


Hi there,
iR1600 are special machine that needs a little bit more care.

First, clean the laser unit and optics ( beneath copy glass too ). Then use some polisher and polish the developing cylinder and clean/replace developer cylinder blade.

Use GENUINE CANON DRUM UNIT and GENUINE TONER.

Problem with Dell 1720 printer


Hello

You have to check couple things in this case.

Ensure that the printer cover is closed.
  1. Remove the toner cartridge.
  2. Firmly shake it side-to-side and front-to-back several times to redistribute the toner.
  3. Reinsert the toner cartridge, and continue printing.
Repeat this procedure multiple times until the print remains faded. When the print remains faded, replace the toner cartridge.

The imaging drum is approaching full and needs to be replaced. Order a new imaging drum.

I have two lines about a 1/8in on each side of the paper that are smudged or faded on a HP Laserjet 2600n Printer how can I solve this??


Usually that means you need to replace either the image drum or some of the smaller parts to fix this. If it seems to fade out more as you print more pages but comes back the next day when its cold then you may need to price out a drum or corona wire. The fix is just replacing the part which is about the same as replacing an toner drum BUT you need to make sure the parts cost isn't more than the printer is worth.

Not printing on left side of page


The problem is that the revolving drum doesn't contact the OPC drum proberly. You have to open the left side off the machine and replace the little white gear on the shaft that drive revolving drum. The gear has "jumped"one step and the revolving drum isn't parallell to the OPC drum. I fixed my 2840 last night it takes some time but now it works perfect.

u hav to check the drum and adjust its position,u also check the position of the tray in the printer.

the drum life is over, change PC drum, also you may clean laser glass whats under the pc drum
