Hi,
Yes, its correct, you need to replace lens assembly because lens assembly can not be repaired easily and satisfactory, labor of qualified tech to get repair old lens assembly would cost you similar to new lens price as well so it would be good to buy replacement lens assembly to solve DSC-H50 camera issue.
Thanks.

Its possible that the format pic isn't compatible with the programs installed in the laptop, or anyone program (image) is settitngs to open this format pic; check it and tell us news.

If you are deleted the images, could try recovery with this Sony software: SonyPhotoRecovery

Hope this helps (remember to arte and comment this).

I turned on my cam to see the camera making everything look distorted on the screen and distorted when I actually take a picture. Every other function works fine (like the menu screens etc.) so it's not a...

I'm afraid your camera is affected by the well known Sony CCD sensor problem - a large number of CCD chips manufactured by Sony between 2002 and 2004 were prone to early failure, due to some problem in the manufacturing process.
Sony offered free repair of the affected products (which seem to include your camera), but this offer seems to have ended in 2007. You could of course still call Sony's customer service and ask if the offer has been prolonged.

Adjust settings

Good Day, please check the capacity of your memory stick, your camera has a 4.1MP imager, at that max. resolution, 1 picture is approx. 1.5Mb in size, my idea is, your memory stick maybe has 16Mb capacity, as you said can only store 10pictures. Adjust the resolution by pressing the button with the "squares/trash can" icon located at lower right on back of camera, in camera mode and select lower resolution, ex. 2Mb, 1Mb or VGA, then check if you can still record additional pictures. Or buy a new higher capacity memory stick 128Mb above, hope this will help, thanks

Sony DSC-W70 LCD Problem

You will need to describe what you see on the LCD in more detail in order for me to tell you what the problem is. There are two different issues that can cause things like what you are seeing. 1: Cracked LCD. You will see lines which resemble cracked glass. You will see bright vivid colors with specks of black or stark white all over. The image problems may be only in one portion of the screen. The LCD is made of glass, so if you look closely and see patterns that look like broken glass - this is your issue. Replace the LCD. 2: Bad LCD connection. You will see distorted colors, the screen may blank out and flicker when you shake the camera or press on the housing near the screen. If neither of these describe what you are seeing, post back and give more details and I will respond further. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
