Emptry cartridge in the way of MP610s other features
Hi, The wide black cartridge has run out, but I just want to use the scanner urgently. I can't get another cartridge until a couple of days. How do I just proceed with the rest of the machine and it's other features when it gives me an error in the monitor window?

Re: Emptry cartridge in the way of MP610s other features
Im afraid you can not get passed this problem as the machine requires a
full set of ink to resume unless you want to put some tape underneath
the bottom of the cartridge which block the light and it will asume
there is ink inside the cartrdige.

Need one plastic plate that you don't care much about, or a plastic disposable plate.
Tear off one section from a paper towel roll and roll it up into about a 1-inch diameter roll.
Flatten the roll
Soak the flattened roll in warm water
Lay the flattened roll down on the plate
Place the nozzle area of the ink cartridge directly against the wet paper towel
Fold the flattened roll as needed to support the ink cartridge so it stands upright.
The trick here is to make sure the cartridge is supported upright so the nozzles come in full contact with the wet towel surface.
The wet towel acts as a wick to soften and draw out the ink.
After awhile, you shoudl see a kaleidoscope of colors on the paper towel. This indicates the nozzles have been opened up and the ink is flowing. Try to print and see what happens.
Repeat as needed.
each cartridge has its unique serial number,
printer remembers him,
is absent sensor of the ink level determination in you cartridge. You can to print, but message will say to you "EMPTY CARTRIGE".
this warning function can be disconnected by you in printing driver.
If you bathe new cartridge, that level will show full.
If afterwards put(deliver) old , that he will show that empty.
Printer can have a memory about two or three last cartridges.
If it is a original HP cartridge try running the inbuild cartridge clean and if that does not work you can get a replacement cartridge from HP if it falls under there warrenty agreements if it is not a genuine hp cartridge I suggest go and get yourself one. Also by using generic cartridges in these systems and mess up the ink systems of the actual unit
you cannot print only using color ink, you will be able to print again if you have your ink refill or replace, its a default setting to printer not to print if the black cartridge is emptry, you will continue to recieve messages regarding this black ink cartridge
I beleive you are not able to make a color copy, once try to scan from the computer or all-in-one to check whether the scanner mechanism is working properly or not, if the scan comes out fine then remove the color cartridge and clean the copper contacts of the cartridge with soft cotton cloth and also check the ink level of the cartridge, if the issue persists replace the color cartridge and if even the scan does not comes out good then there is an issue with the scanner mechanism.
