Thottbot is a website that helps you with wow not a program.

Well to answer your first question, yes. Every third-party program can potentially compromise your computer to danger, to be honest after reading this program, it's not a typical World of Warcraft addon. It is actually an executable program that works within your World of Warcraft folder, because of this none of your account security or computer's for that matter can be 100% safe while using this program because it will be sending out information to what i'm guessing to be www.thottbot.com. But what is contained in this information is not all known. In my opinion I would strongly recommend that this program is not used due to the fact of many accounts being stolen, but I will still include information if you choose to try it out. You can get it from http://thottbot.com/contribute or I belive from www.curse-gaming.com . From what the thottbot site says I belive that it uses a patching system when you start up the addon program to keep it up to date. Yes, all addons affect gamespeed but it's not always noticed depending on the computer spec's. Some computers can handle 50 addons running at once and run as if they wern't on and some cannot. As I said I strongly urge for you not to use this program and leave it up to other people to help with it. They obviously have enough information coming in from somewhere, but i personally haven't used the program. Another option you could do is try to contact somebody who is using or has used this program and find out their experiences.

If I understand your question correctly, you want to remove your installed avast anti-virus but you are hesitant from un-installing because you are leaving your computer defenseless. If correct, I can suggest you use Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free and protects your computer just as good as any anti-virus commercially available in market today.
You can download Microsoft Security Essential from here- http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/mse.aspx
1) Click download button.
2) Run the setup or the installer.
3) Follow the instruction prompted to you.
I hope the above information will be helpful. Thank you for using Fixya.
