How can I fix a no signal message on my sky+hd box

If you receive some channels and not others here's what to check.
Has your dish moved? has it been windy?
Turn off the sky box at the wall and check the two cables coming in from the dish. Unscrew the two "F" connectors and check there is a bit of cable sticking out of the end, if it's not long enough you will lose some channels. if you strip the cable back and make them too long then you will not get the plug back on. Be careful here as the middle cable must be straight to fit in the hole and the outer braiding must not touch the center cable. Make sure the box is off at the wall when handling this cable as there is up to 18 volts on it.
Because you say "it powered on again" i'm thinking your box has a power supply problem. When they were made they did not use good quality parts so there is a repair kit of 15 capacitors that usually need changing. Let me know if you can't get it sorted as i have done these before.

I have a jvc surround sound system 5 disc DVD player and my subwoofer won't power on I touch the cord that connects to the DVD player and it just makes a clicking sound the subwoofer model number is s

Looks like you have a faulty connection. First, unscrew the back and check the servo( motor piece you plug into) inside. You'll see the connection not taking place for it to turn it on. Or just the cord leading in isn't making the connection with it.

Even when pluged in why won't it turn on?

hi...if you only find it hard to turn your player ON when plugged, lets do this few easy steps in tracing down the problem...check first the power cord if there's an indication of cut / burn wire.. if no check if there's a blown fuse...if there's one try to replace w/ same value..blown fuse sometimes caused by power fluctuation or you have a defective parts in the power supply section..in the power supply area check for any bloated or bulgy capacitors, if there's one replace w/ same value..also check the manual ON switch if it's still intact....test run....hope this help you...don't forget to rate and vote...good day..

We lost the cigarette ac adapter and purchased a new generic one, plugged it in and heard a popping noise. Now we can't get the dvd player powered up again. any suggestions

The end of the plug which gets inserted into the cigarette lighter/power port should unscrew. Inside is a fuse. You need to replace it with the identical size and rating of fuse. Check the unit with an ohm meter for any shorts between both conductors. If the unit is shorted toss it and get a new one. If it isn't shorted it should work with a new fuse. Let me know if you need any more help.

No power on LCD after power outage

First, check whether it is the fuse in the home wiring that is out. You should plug something else into the outlet to see if the outlet is still functioning.
Some electronic equipment has a reset switch (fuse) on the back panel. Others have a special sequence of buttons on the panel that will act as a reset. Check your user manual to see whether your unit has such a switch or reset sequence.
