SOURCE: Ceiling fan wiring Aloha ceiling Fan Model # 29079

I have an Aloha Breeze L-Style 52" Ceiling Fan(Polished Brass), Model # 29079 Bought From Wal-Mart about 1 1/2 years ago and the fan speed switch busted and the capacitor melted. I have a new switch but can't find a new capacitor because I can't read the spec info. Looking for a place to obtain the correct capacitor for this fan so I can make necessary repairs!

SOURCE: Broken ceiling fan switch

NOT ALL SWITCHES ARE THE SAME!!!! Some are single layer and some are not!!. I think you can tell by the body color of the switch. Red and Black, Grey and Black, ETC. I figured this out after buying 3 of the wrong switches. Each one hooks up a little different. If it is an aloha brand fan like sold at WalMart it is a common issue. Just call there 800 number and they will send you a new one. You have to know the exact model number of have the bar code. Usually there is a bar code on top of the motor. Just take it down from the ceiling and look. I called them on Thursday and got a free switch and capacitor on Monday!! My fan is going great again. If you have the old switch check it or just call the fan's customer service!!
Just call 1-800-295-4448. Even the call is free.

Hello. It sound like Aloha Housewares is a vendor for ceiling fans, lighting fixtures, house hold things etc... There are several American companies that manufacture ceiling fans, which are of excellent quality.

Just measure the diameter of the fan glob. Contact American Fan Companies on the internet. They all should have replace parts for their products. The only one I think of now is Hunter Fan Co. I'm sure there is other excellent fan companies in the USA with their web site. Check it out.

Sorry, I could'n be more of assistance to you. stewbison.

My hunter ceiling fan turns very slow

Check your capacitor. If this is an add on remote, set the fan on high with the remote then pull the chain on the fan until you get high speed.

Aloha fan 71763 new, with remote, installed today, does not work on high, shuts down med and low work lights work, need help

The problem you are describing is in the circuit board and governed by an ic to regulate the speed of the fan, without a diagram and a parts list, it would be next to impossible to fix. I would push them to take it back.

I have an existing ceiling fan with a three speed controller. The low speed setting was too high so I have engaged an electrician to install a variable speed controller, Clipsal 32E500F Series. The new...

some manufacturer already attached a variable speed controller when you purchased them, meaning the unit requires this control, but in your case when you purchased it, it does not have any, meaning they sell it to the market as ready to use, so why install additional control?

There might be an installation error during the assembly, so all you have to do is just interchange the wire connected to the control from LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH, it is a trial and error thing but it won't affect or damage your unit, maybe your high speed connection was connected to a low speed control, so just inter-change it. Remove the variable speed control

Altura 68" fans will not operate on high speed.

I jtoo, ust bought The Altura (68" fan from home depot)
Home depot makes hampton bay through various chinese manufacturers.................
The fan ran slow on high speed, and barely ran on medium or low.
home depot gave me a number for their tech department that knew right away.....that the capacitor(s) are defective in many of the Altura fans.
They are sending the capacitors in 3 days to me no charge.
They are located under the fan ( remember the white square plastic plug you had to connect and the 2 wires for the optional light kit?.....)That plug is for the capacitors that everyone is having a problem with.
My guess is they are under rated for a fan that big and are sending better ones to those with problems.
Hope this helps.
