Question about Acer Aspire 5580 Notebook
Had my motherboard changed due to a failing graphics card by engineers at Acer Service Centre. After the change, the bluetooth failed. Basically when u flick the catch on the laptop to switch the bluetooth on, it says no device and you cannot find the bluetooth in the device manager. However the bluetooth driver is still running.
There is also now a msg that pops up at startup that says unknown device detected in USB port and is missing a driver. The problem is there is no device plugged into any USB port.
Finally very often a msg will pop up during usage that a USB port has malfunction and needs to be replace.....
This is my 6 repair for my Laptop since getting it last April... and they just refuse to entertain my request for a new laptop. Really pissed as it seems that the set I have is one of those defect sets. 2 dvd drive changes, 1 OS reformat, 2 LCD changes and 1 Motherboard change....
There may be a bent connector on one of the USB ports or a defective USB controller on the motherboard. The bluetooth connector may not have been reconnected or the bluetooth module was not reinstalled after service. Sadly you will need to have it serviced again. They most likely will not replace it it with a new laptop, but maybe a refurbished one. You could push for a warranty extension for amount of time the system has been due to need of repair. Good Luck.
