I have installed the CD and plugged in the jukebox and it gives me a few options as to how I can open it, windows media player etc
I have selected all the different options but still no icon shows in the media manager which means I cannot transfer songs on to it. I have tried to do it manually by copy and pasting files into the folder but that dosent work. Hope someone can help!!!

Sorry it wasn't the Elio Jukebox with 20 GB, it was the Elio Jukebox with 4 GB. And yes it's solved. I copied the files from a second Elio on it. Not the files from the CD!!! You must copy the files from a working unit. It works with mine. If you need the files - I can mail it to you. I am from Germany but after you copied the files you can change the language from German to English on the player menue.
i still had the firmware setup on my computer which i donwloaded last year from tatung.at. actually in my case it's not working (got no operation system on my jukebox) and always asks for the installation of the tatung media manager which i already have installed
I have had a similar problem: Operating system not found. I fixed it by using elio utility that is installed along with elio Media Manager. The elio utility can be opened by clicking All Programs -> Elio -> elio utility. There are options like "Recover", "Reinstall" and so on. Try "Recover" at first.
you can bypass the need for soft ware disc by conecting to your pc click start menu go to my computer open elio jukebox click propeties open pathway to music and apply then you can drag and drop music straight into your elio or right click music file you want to send and jobs done
use the windows vista "use an older program with this version of windows" start>control panel>programs>use an older program... manually select the autorun and change the settings to XP This will allow you to load the program however after having done this I now have the problem that it cant find the primary library so the program requests termination
i have similar problem, i think i know why mine doesn't work. My son connected the usb port to power supply, since then the elio manager does not recognise that the player is connected.... something must have blown in the usb circuitry
i would rebuild the music database using this little extra program that comes with the media manager. i believe its the "ChkService.exe" in the tatung installation directory. if you start it, it goes into your windows taskbar. make a rightclick and then click on something that says "run jukebox program". you'll get a popup, that offer some options. one of them should be called "rebuild database" or something like (sorry, my version is in german). click on it. it could help.
