It is pretty easy. You have to remove the lower front cover, located just above the paper tray, 2 screws to remove and pull forward.
Then there is one screw in the front of the fuser, It is a shoulder screw. Once that screw is removed you push the upper fuser toward the back of the machine slightly. It will pop off a locating pin. There are 2 plugs to disconnect and the fuser will come out once those are unplugged. The pressure and pressure cleaning roll just pop out of the frame once the upper fuser is removed.
Not hard at all.

If you need to order one. Google "the parts drop". Call and ask for Britt. I don't work there, but have done business with them for years. Good people to deal with and they will be fair price wise.

We have XC865 the copier was working just fine until today. The paper keeps jamming inside. It would start to copy and then just gets stuck in the middle of the cycle. So I have to open the machine up...

Most likely a common problem of a broken fuser drive gear. This is especially true if the lead edge of the paper is stopping at the fuser assembly. This is the assembly that is hot to the touch. There is a upper fuser roller drive gear that breaks on these and causes the fuser roller to stop turning. So everytime the paper gets to the rollers it stops and a jam reults. The gear is 16.00 at precisionroller.com part number M510X
Here is a picture of the gear.

Schematic of the Xerox XC865

Usually you can find the place to put the part by noticing the location of mounting holes or an obvious space on the fuser where it should go. Otherwise you might check with some of the places that sell replacement fuser assemblies. They might be able to send you an exploded view of the fuser.

There is a metal clip that holds it on the roller. Look in the machine for it.

XEROX XC865 - No image

You are not getting any transfer. There are two types of transfers:
1- Corona wire; a set of very thin wires (hair thin and usually gold) that sit exactly against the drum. they are eiher broken or the unit is shorting out
2- a black spongy roller, usually don't go bad may need some recalibration
other possibility is the Developper unit,
which may be going bad look at it does it have a coat of toner on it? if no and you can see the long roller (it should be a silver magnet roller) if you can see the silver then there is not enough toner on the roller, it should have a thin solid layer of toner all the way xerox%2520xc810%2520drum%2520cartridge.gif

Xerox Copier problem

Turn power on and within 4 sec.press the following sequence;clear, exposure, clear, exposure. The screen will go blank.Enter '1' and '4' then hit print.turn off. This will reset H4 if the fuser has no problems such as a bad fuser lamp or thermal fuse. And yes it,s worth fixing with the right guy working on it!
