MY BK EPH5102X makes a ringing sound when I push the PTT button. I have programmed several channels into the radio and that all seems fine, but it does the ringing sound on ever channel whether programmed...

It thinks the channel is "busy" when you hit the button. Set the squelch control until it doesn't hear a signal if there's no intelligible signal present, or set the CTCSS tones to a valid value for your system. The EPH is a very good radio, but generally takes an experienced technician to program it properly.

Tone Sound when Keying mike

You probably are referring to a "roger beep" which can be enabled to make ordinary transmissions annoying to anyone on the receiving end. Usually it is possible to disable this "feature".

0 and - keys fell out!!!!

hey
This could be a little difficult to explain.. coz the white ring acts as a spring and putting it back on is not hard but difficult to explain.

See first of all on an acer laptop a key has 3 components
the key
the white thing (which holds the key in place)
and a black soft thingy (which actually gets pressed wen u press a button and acts like a spring)
first of all the white ring can be removed and refixed easily .
Youll see 4 small hook like structures on the palce where key needs to be placed ... first place the white ring over there, the white ring has 2 things which come into one another. (try referring to the key where in the white ring is still in place).
now if the black spring like thingy is removed from its place, place it in the center of the ring and put the key on, try moving the key a little, if the key and white ring are put correctly, this will produce a click like sound showing the key is locked by the white ring .. if the white ring is dismantled into 2 parts it could be a little tricky to put them back on.. in that case i guess ull have to check a fixed ring and try and replicate the same for this key

Muting the sound

Hi,

The sound produced by a Motorola radio when the mike is keyed refers to the "Transmitting Call Tone" which is another feature other than the "Interference Eliminator" or the "Roger Beep" feature.

On most Motorola GMRS/FRS TalkAbout radios, setting the "Call Tone" to 0 disables the feature. This is done with the radio ON by pressing on the "Menu" button 3 times which will result in the display showing the current Call Tone setting (flashing) and the letters CA; pressing on the <- or +> buttons will change selection (you will also hear the different Tones), select 0 (it may be up to 5 or 10 depending on the version). Press on the "Menu" or "PTT" button to set, save and exit.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
