Ur iPOd has a Usb (universal serial bus) conecter. These are practically standard for all periphals now, depending on the make of your PC you may not have USB. Most computers made this century do, but if you don't, you can buy a USB port to plug into your PC (im assuming its AGP as if you have no USB you must have an older PC ) for around $20 - for four ports.
Otherwise look in your ipodd case it has a Quic start guide.

I have an ipod model a1199. i was wondering if you can use a newer ipod touch charger for it? and if not what kind of charger does it use?

Charge an iPod Nano Without a Charger
If you've misplaced or broken the charger that came with your iPod Nano, you might think you need to purchase a new one in order to continue using your Mp3 player.
However, there is a way that you can continue enjoying your iPod without having to purchase a new charger.
As long as you have a USB cord and a computer, you can charge your iPod without having the charger.

Locate the USB cord that came with your iPod Nano package.
It is the same cord that you use in order to sync or transfer music.
Plug the small end into your iPod Nano.

Plug the other, larger end into your computer's USB port.
Choose "Do Nothing" when your computer presents the dialogue box to let you choose what to do with the hardware or USB connection.
Leave your Nano plugged into your computer for at least 4 hours to charge.
Unplug your iPod Nano when charging is complete.
Charge an iPod Without the Charger
Many iPod owners purchase a charging unit that plugs into a standard wall outlet to recharge the iPod's battery.
However, the iPod wall charger is not included with new purchases, so consumers must either purchase a separate charger or find a way to charge their iPod using other means.
Here's a simple method to charge your iPod using your computer.

Plug the iPod USB cable into the bottom of your iPod.
Plug the other end of the iPod USB cable into a free USB port on your Mac or PC computer.

Open the iTunes program by clicking on the icon in the Dock on a Mac or using the Start menu on a PC.
Click on the name of your iPod under the "Devices" heading in the main iTunes window.
Click on the "Sync" button to synchronize your iPod with your computer data.
While the iPod is syncing, the power from the USB port on your computer will charge your iPod's battery.

Unplug your iPod from the computer once the battery is fully charged.

This one should be ok.

How to conect ipod to the pc

The iPod comes with a cable with a wide-connector at the end that connects to the iPod, and a standard USB-connector at the other end, that connects into any USB port on your computer.

Download: http://www.Apple.com/iTunes the free iTunes software, install it, and use it to copy music from your computer to the iPod, and to purchase music from the iTunes Online Store.

My Ipod touch is locked and I don't know the password, and when I plug my ipod into my computer it shows up as a camera. How can i plug it in so that I can find the Ipod_control spot?

usually in the back of the tower, if you can get it to come up on itunes as "unable to do anything, enter code first" just hold down the home button, turn ipod off, turn it back on, while holdin down the home button still, and itunes will detect it and let u restore it

Cpu says no input vga signal, then goes to sleep

The no input VGA signal just means that the monitor is not receiving anything from the graphic card on the tower. Is the card a digital (DVI) output card? You'll know by the connector, it's white and slightly wider than a standard VGA connector. If so, perhaps the monitor is set to the wrong input?

If that isn't the case, and the computer is using an on-board or built-in graphics controller, you could try resetting the system's CMOS settings by setting the clear-settings jumper on the system board, or simply remove the plug and CMOS battery for a few minutes. Check the computer's documentation on the exact steps to do this.

Hope this helps!

I cannot install music from my computor to my Ipod 4 nano

If you can't connect iPod nano to your computer , make sure;
  • you have installed the latest iTunes software from www.apple.com/ipod/start.
  • Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer. Note: A USB 2.0 port is recommended to connect iPod nano. USB 1.1 is significantly slower than USB 2.0. If you have a Windows PC that doesn’t have a USB 2.0 port, in some cases you can purchase and install a USB 2.0 card. For more information, go to www.apple.com/ipod.
  • iPod nano might need to be reset (see page 64).
  • If you’re connecting iPod nano to a portable or laptop computer using the iPod Dock Connector to USB 2.0 Cable, connect the computer to a power outlet before connecting iPod nano.
  • Make sure you have the required computer and software. See “If you want to double check the system requirements” on page 68.
  • Check the cable connections. Unplug the cable at both ends and make sure no foreign objects are in the USB ports. Then plug the cable back in securely. Make sure the connectors on the cables are oriented correctly. They can be inserted only one way.
  • Try restarting your computer.

I have a Dell A525 Speaker system that I bought to use with a Dell projector and an Inspiron laptop computer. It worked fine until I had the computer stolen. Not thinking ahead I bought an HP computer...

The speakers can be used with the HP computer. The connection on the speaker set should look like the connector on a headset or headphones for an ipod. The connection for this can be located on the back of the computer near the location of where you plug in your monitor and keyboard. There also may be another location to plug this in at. If you had recently purchased this laptop, many manufacturers will put a connection the the front of the PC. Usually under a flap of some sort.

You are missing the front headphone / microphone connector that plugs into the motherboard. Or a way to jump this to close the headphones so the sound will come out the back.
