I am missing something. I have 3 hard pieces and 1filter. When I unpluged the cord the leaking started. Then I removed the filter and not than, but later that day all of the water leaked out. If you can, I need some directions please. When I leave home and have unpluged the cord what do I do next to keep the water in the tank.Vicks V3500

I have a similar problem. Water is running down the feed tube into the right side of the humidifier housing and onto the floor. I am ordering a new feed tube and plastic frame for the element. Hope this works.

If water drips or pools at the base of your humidifier:

1) Disconnect the power.
2) Check the pan or reservoir and empty it if necessary.
3) Be sure the wick, hose, or other water-delivery system isn't kinked or fouled.

He had a similar problem, the humidifier was leaking. We figured it was from being on an unlevel surface. When we moved it to another location that we thought might be closer to level, the problem was resolved.

Set it out with the trash — ours did the same thing right out of the box; it's not a drip but a stream!  PS, there's nothing to kink.  And, of course, if you empty the reservoir, there will be no leak, for there's no water in the thing!

Usually they leak at the top of the tank where the handle is! Check for cracks and even fill and place in stopperd sink unside down overnight to see if it's losing water. If it is, replace the tank- they run about 25.00 for the 2.5 gallon size! I just went throught this!
