Well... there is nothing to do with the disc to setup...

its a hardware problem... i mean issue with the mouse...

try this : disconnect the power from the computer....... and then Press & Hold the power button on the computer for 20 sec's... to remove the static eletricity in computer... and then connect the power back on the computer and power on the computer.

if not resolved... check with the button at the bottom of the mouse.. whether it is switched on or not.. if switched on try pressing the sync button on the mose... if not let me know... i'll give you some more tips..

How do I restore bios?

If all you have done is change the CMOS battery then the BIOS should be fine but it will have been reset to default settings which may have changed the Boot device and / or boot sequence.

Go in to the BIOS setup when you power on the computer and check that you have your main hard disk drive set as the main boot device.

Dell dimension 5150 blinking amber lights

I have similar problem these days. After normal shutting down the PC, it can not be powered up again, the amber light blinks. A temp solution for my case is by doing these steps:

1. leave all monitor, network, keyboard and mouse etc. connected
2. disconnect the power, wait until green light and amber light dim.
3. pop up the CMOS battery, then put back in (better to check its remaining voltage, if not good, change a new one)
4. power amber light flash shorter and lighter
5. disconnect any USB connections like keyboard and mouse,
6. immediately connect keyboard and mouse back into USB ports
7. my pc powers up at this point, all green lights shining. Except it displays CMOS setup warnings, give me options to click either F1 or F2
8. I click F1, it goes into normal login XP

The only problem is I could not shutdown PC again, if I do, then I have to repeat 1-8. I have to use "Standby" instead, which I usually do.

No laser

You shouldn't be able to see the laser, it wont glow like a optical mouse will. there should be buttons on the mouse and receiver that will connect the 2 devices and make them work together try pressing each for 5 seconds.

Wireless mouse not working

Try to replace the batteries in it. It may be acting strange due to low batteries. If this does not help you try testing out on another system and post results.

My wireless optical mouse is no longer working

You replaced the batteries. Okay. Did you install drivers for the mouse from a CD? Are you using Windows XP? Do you notice any change if you use the mouse on a darker surface as opposed to lighter surface? If the computer installed the drivers for you, then you might want to delete them in Device Manager (might be called something like HID-Compliant Mice. Single click on that entry, press the delete key. You might have to reboot your PC after that. From there you might have to unplug, then plug in the mouse again and you should notice the driver reinstalling. Give it a second and all should be good.

*Access the Device Manager by right-clicking on My Computer, select Properties, go to the Hardware tab and select Device Manager.

Could be a defective disc. You could try 1.copying the entire disc to a temporary folder on your hard drive and running setup from there, 2.check the manufacturers website for a downloadable version.
