Question about Nintendo Wii Console

Jerky avitars & bouncing pictures

We have had our Wii system for 5 days and it has started giving the avitars a jerking motion and items bounce around. It is hard to concentrate and aim correctly. Is there something that we can do to fix this problem or is it something with the console itself? We have tried different games and disks and it continues to happen.

My pointer just started jumping around, I have changed no settings or the position of my sensor bar ans my batteries are good

Try reducing the amount of light or glare in the room. If light bounces around the room it can affect the sensor.

Wii controllers bounce all over the screen,

If you get too far away from the sensor bar the "hand" will go all over the place. If you have the sensor bar that comes with the console you have to be within 15 feet If I remember. I use a wireless sensor bar that is good up to 25 feet.

I don't have a problem with the consult, I have a problem with the remote. The cursor bounces all over the place. How do I fix this?

the reason is most likely that the signaler on the inside is connected, but is loose and free to move, i would look for a new or used one, since its not really worth repairing

Wii Handset Motion Sensor Not Working

It could be one of a few things.

1. Your sensor bar is no good, can you get the pointer icon on the wii's main menu to work properly?
To fix this you'll need to contact Nintendo and get a new sensor bar or buy one of the third party ones, Nintendo should help you out though.

2. The accelerometer in the wii is stuck, which does happen from time to time.
To fix this turn the Wii remote so the buttons face towards the floor and slap the back of the remote firmly(not too hard!) with the palm of your hand. It should work if that is the problem.

3. The accelerometer is broken or otherwise rendered useless.
To fix this you'll have to contact Nintendo.

To get a hold of Nintendo 1-800-255-3700 they're very friendly and it never takes very long(I got helped in 5 minutes the day after Wii was released.) Best of all, Nintendo doesn't outsource!

Sensor bar malfunction

Check the room you´re playing in for InfraRed sources, strong lamps such as halogen type lamps emmit high IR radiation(heat), also mirrors shiny windows and sunlight can interfeer with the wiimotes IR sensitive CCD, try to eliminate as many of the IR sources as possible. Hope this helps

Wii freezing up

Hi Ashley,

It sounds like the accelerometer in your Wii Remote is not working properly.

The "point-and-click" stuff like the Wii Menu use the WIi Remote's camera (which is behind the dark part on the front of the Wii Remote). The motion-sensing for swinging, tilting and other motion uses the accelerometer in the Wii Remote.

Wrap your Wii Remote in a towel and give it a whack against your knee (not so hard as to injure your knee) - sometimes the accelerometer part gets "stuck" and needs to be jarred out of position.

If that still doesn't work, then go to Nintendo.com, click Support, and go to the Wii Troubleshooting section for more options.
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/ts/wiiremote.jsp

Also, you don't have to use the same remote as #1. The first remote that is activated will become #1.

You can also push the Home button on the Wii Remote, then point to the bottom (where the battery levels are shown), press A, then click on Reconnect. It will tell you to press the 1 and 2 buttons on each remote in the order you want them to appear. Press the 1 and 2 buttons on the remote you want to be #1, wait for the remote to sync (the Wii will make a happy nosie), then do the same for the remote you want to be #2, etc.

The Wii Controler Wrist Strap got ripped

go to any game store or anywhere that sells accessories for the wii (wal-mart) by a skin that comes with a strap they are usualy a little stronger looking, the skin will also prevent the remote from sliding out of you hand, i had the remote go flying while playing tenis once but i didnt have the wrist strap on, it bounced off the wall and came back to me and is still ok, they are pretty durable but the skin is the best way to go I wouold recommend a madcatz skin, they make the best recharge station right now and they are cheap and usualy a decent product.
