When removing the top screen casing, don't pull it apart after you unscrew it. It has a locking mechanism where you need to slide the back half up and the front half down, then pull apart.

BE CAREFUL - the ribbon cables can tear under the slightest pressure!

Ds lite screen flash white tehm off

Hi,

The screen that does NOT flash will need replacing.

It may look fine and dandy but there is still an issue.

The reason for the flash is that when switched on the DS lite performs a qucik check of the screens, if there is an issue the unit will switch itself off again.

My answer is, judging that you have said you have taken it apart to have a look that you are willing to repair it yourself.
Have a look on ebay for the relevant screen (plenty of people on ebay stock them) and then replace the screen that does NOT flash.

This should solve your issue.

If you need a guide to replace the respective screen click on my name to access my profile and at the bottom of the page you will find my guides.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

My nephews ds lite has been water damaged for years and i don't know if i can fix it.

Well try taking it apart and letting it dry, and you can buy replacement DS parts, such as top/bottom screens, from Amazon. however, to take it apart, you're going to need a triwing screwdriver, also available on Amazon.com.

NDS powers on then back off

i think you have answered that question yourself but what i would do, find a game repaireshop near by, and they will repair anything to do with game consoles, it should cost too much either, so its either them or the trash or try your pot look, learn a bit more and you might probably be able to fix it yourself, dont give up just yet, believe in yourself and concentrate

I hear about the ribbon cable not being inserted wel.
Lots of people had it put in place, looking ok but no action from the ds. I suggest to reinsert the ribon cables, i heard its quite tricky with the ds...

Broken lcd on ds

Whew, boy. Well, I've never taken one apart before, but why don't you go ask those nice people over at Nintendo for a how-to document. I would guess that you just need to take it apart and stick all the cables attached to the old screen onto the new screen, but I wouldn't want to render the DS useless, so follow my instructions at your own risk.

Wont turn on

If your DS wont switch on....Is the battery making proper contact with its terminals? has the unit been taken apart? have you dropped it? bumped it?

make sure also the battery is well charged.

If its not the battery and both screens are blank..then probably need replacing...but before you attempt to take your DS apart take plenty more advice from DS users on here and other sites..

good luck

Nintendo ds touch screen

i had the same problem and have now fixed it succesfully the touch screen works like a grid and is overlayed onto an lcd screen so that when you touch the screen it makes a conection within the grid so that the machine knows where you are touching .....if one of these grids are broken you will never calibrate your screen as the ds doesnt recognise what you are touching .....in short the answer is to replace your touch screen
