Question about Hoover U5507900 Elite Rewind Bagless Upright Vacuum

NO SUCTION COMING FROM BOTTOM OF VACUUM

We bought a Hoover Elite Rewind several months ago. Worked fine until this week. Now, does not pick up. We cleaned out the filter (not much there to clean), as well as taking the brush and belt off and clean out the intake hose (some fuzz in the hose but now much). Only suction that comes through is on upper hose only. No suction through the bottom brushes. Is there anything left we can do to fix this? Thank you, in advance, for your help. It is so much appreciated.

    I have the same problem!

I have had my elite rewind since July. The suction quit on the bottom now it's January. I read that their might be an air leak. But how do you fix that? This was an expensive vaccuum for it just to quit.

I have the exact same problem. I do not see how replacing the belt would help if that is not the problem.

There is no suction from the bottom of the vacuum- only the hose attachment.

Even though the belt isnt broken you should replace it also make sure the height is raised up on the nozzle. try dropping a marble through the hose to double check there is nothing stuck ( the attachment hose and the small hose that runs to the floor )

The belt on my Hoover Elite Rewind UH71003 keeps coming off.

Those machines come half way across the world. The belt stretches while it waits. Buy a new belt for it and you'll be good as new.. actually better.
Here's a full length description of why.

I have suction through the hose but not when using in the upright position. The problem started once I removed the filter to clean it.

there is a chance that the hose between the ground pick-up and the suction hose is clogged,, this happens when the filter is blocked and all the dirt and stuff only makes it part way up the hose and then settles at the bottom. run a wire coat hanger down the line to break up the blockage.

My deluxe elite rewind vacuum spits out dirt

The elite rewind does not have any fancy features. This sound like you have a blockage in the foot or base of the vac. remove the bottom cover to look under. Also check the hose, it can be in there as well.

If there no blockages in the hoses, then the next thing to check would be any filters in the vacuum. When these get clogged, you will experience this problem.

Hoover Deluxe Elite Rewind does not pick up

Check the hose and take the bottom plate of the vacuum off to check for obstructions that you can't see right away. Use a wire coathanger (unwound) to push any clog through. I also have dogs and this vacuum. It does get clogged with fur occaisionally.

Blowing out dust

The reason most vacuums blow dust is because there is little or no suction in the foot of the vac. on this model, check to make sure that the hose is installed in the recepticle on the back to draw vacuum from the floor. verify the filter is clean, and there is no obstruction in the bottom foot.

No suction on Hoover Wind Tunnel.

Greetings from GoVacuum.com,

First this is a common problem on ALL bagless vacuum cleaners. Usually it takes longer then 1 day however.

Is there no suction in the suction hose, or is it not suctioning from the floor?

Most people buy a bagless vacuum once, then return to a bagged one after their bad experience, you are not alone!

Please give me the model number to your Hoover, (found on the bottom or the back of the vacuum on a foil label).

Thanks,
