Question about KitchenAid KBMC140H Convection Microwave Oven

Crisp display The crisp display suddenly showed on my microwave touch pad display, with beeping sounds. Pushing cancel would reset it for a short while. Cycling the circuit breaker for a short while produced the same result. Cycling the CB off for 10-15 min seems to have resolved it, but is this the start of a larger problem?

Re: crisp display

I am having the same problem with mine also.. doing the exact same thing. They keep replacing the keypad, but the problem keeps surfacing. In fact, did it last night.

My GE stainless steel 1100 watt microwave starts beeping out of the blue and the display panel shuts off and when I open the door it resets itself and then starts to beep when I close the door again.

Try removing the power cord for about a minute, push all the touch pad 'buttons' and then plug it back in. If this doesn't work it sounds like you may have a bad door interlock switch or a bad PCM .. Good luck !

Panasonic genius 1200w

You may have a failed keypad or moisture or grease on the keypad innards or on the control circuit board itself.
You can find a video here that shows you how to remove the grille & controller in about 5 minutes if it's an over the range model.
You can order Panasonic parts from Encompass here or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

Microwave won't work - put in food and press START and it beeps and says "PROBE" and nothing comes on. Tried all cancel buttons, even reset the fuse.

Please check if the pads are working to indicate that the touch pad is outputing data to the processor. If there is no menu selection, clock settings then the pad could have worn off.
Also check to disconnect the magnetron , the main capacitor and the connections to the main processor board.

Lock function reset for model JMV8208BAS

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

The owner's manual is online here and it covers the child lock:

To set the child lock.
Touch and hold
pad more than 3
seconds. CHILD
LOCK ON will
appear in the display
window with two

To cancel the child
Touch and hold
pad more than 3
seconds. LOCKED
will disappear and
you hear two beeps.

Ewave panel is on lock

As per the owner's manual:

The oven operation can be locked to prevent the microwave from accidentally being turned on. All oven functions can be locked.

To Set: Touch and hold the CANCEL/OFF Pad for three seconds. The Display shows “LOCKED” and the oven beeps.

To Cancel: Touch and hold the CANCEL/OFF Pad for three seconds. “LOCKED” disappears from the Display and the oven beeps.

If this does not work, then try a hard reset: Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If it still fails, you probably have a problem with the controller.

We regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so with a one-year guarantee. It may cost a little more if you need parts, such as a new keypad.

Microwave/Convection Oven has mind of its own: turns to Crisp mode on its own.

Yes this is a touchpad issue. As you have noted the crisp button is stuck and this is the cause of this. You can try removing the keypad and push up the pressed button. If its jammed then replacing it is the only way.

It's displaying "lock" and The keypad is not responding.

1. Touch the "CANCEL" pad. 2. Touch and hold the "0" (zero) pad until the word "LOCK" disappears from the display and a single beep is heard. The microwave is locked the same way. You can download a manual similar to your model here:
