Hi how are you
first

Download the printer driver from the manufacturer web site. Follow their user guide.

If you can, connect the printer in another PC. If it works, then your PC is the problem. If problem still exists, then cable, driver or printer is the problem.

U WILL HAVE TO GO BACK TO YOUR COMPUTER PRINTER DRIVER SOFTWARE AND FIND THE PRINTER AGAIN

There are hardware and software issues with regard to problems between the PC and the printer. Here are some of them:

1. Some manufacturers (e.g. HP) require attaching the printer only when the printer installer advises you to do so. It may not work if you already attached the printer before told to do so.
2. Some files in the installed printer may be damaged so you have to reinstall the printer driver.
3. Your cables (printer and power) may not be seated firmly at the terminals. You need then to remove and reinsert them.
4. Your printer cartridge, which is a very sensitive electronically, can be damaged upon installation. You should remove the power cable when you install it to prevent damaging the sensitive electrical components. Even if there is ink in it, if the electrical circuits are damaged, it wouldn't work.
5. You may not have set your printer to the printer you are using as default. You can check by clicking Start, Printers and Faxes, and choose your default printer.

I hope that helps.

How do i get a printer cable attached to this PC

Hi Gene,
Most newer printers today are connect via USB. If it's an older printer, it might be connected with a Parallel cable. Pretty much all PC's today have done away with the old Parallel connector and have gone to USB. If your printer has a Parallel connection, it might be time to get either a Wireless printer, or one with USB connections.

Hope this helps

Computer will not recognize my hp printer

Hello,

I would make sure you have the correct printer cable for your printer. Many look alike but have different pin configurations. If you know you have the correct cable, Try this:

Unplug the printer from your pc, remove all software/drivers for your printer from the pc. Reinstall the software/drivers for the printer, power off your pc, connect the printer to the pc, power on the pc.

Once booted up, your pc should 'see' the new printer.

My e-mail does not print more than one page and the printer cuts off words on the right side of the printed sheet

Hi ,
Check your printer set up as it could have changed due to program update .
Make sure to have all relevant info how to reset your printer .
Another way is to roll back your PC to early days ( restore your PC ) and see if it will reset your printer .

I have a problem with a printer which is connected locally to a pc (comp1) on the network. I can access it from one pc but can not access from 3 other pc. I have three printers locally connected and...

Hi Shueb,

First off, I assume if your running a network, you'd have a server based product running. If so, I would have the server manage the printer as a shared printer. This can be accomplished by setting up the share either in your management console or your active directory. Then the server will administer the rights to the printer. If your running a network with just workgroups, then you will have to right click the printer and go to share and security. From there go to permissions and make sure that the users on those machines have permission to access it.

A real easy way to connect a shared printer on a network is to browse through the entire network icon, and click on the machine that is sharing that printer, and when you see the printer right click it, and go to connect printer, and that's it. As long as you've got all the drivers for all the different OS's on the differnent machine, it will install the driver and give you access.

Good Luck,
Mark

HAVING PRINTER PROBLEM. I BELIEVE IT HAS TO DO WITH THE USB PLUG GOING INTO THE PRINTER AND THE COMPUTER. I HAVE TRIED PLUGING IN DIFFERENT WAYS BUT IT STILL WON'T CONNECT. I QUITE SURE I'M DOING SOMETHING...

First option - If you are using Windows OS plug the USB plug to the USB panel of your PC and the other end of the printer cable to your printer. Your PC detects your printer. Install the drivers needed for your printer to work. Insert the installation disk that comes with the printer to your CDRom drive. Install when asks to. After installation, restart your PC.
After restarting to check if your printer is connected click >start< go to >control panel< double-click> System<click>Hardware<click>Device Manager and see if your printer is there.
Second option - if still your printer is not detected by your PC try unplugging from the USB slot and insert it to another USB slot and follow the first option
Third option - if the first and second option does not work, use a different printer cable. The cable that comes with the printer might be defective.
