Palm TX has always required frequent recalibration and is still slightly "off kilter", have to press stylus tip a tiny fraction of an ich one way or another. Yesterday, after a charging, it would turn on and off, but would not open any applications at all. Still shows all icons. Just WON't open anything, so cannot recalibrate. I am unable to hot sync my T/X palm handheld since getting windows 7. I have done ... onto 64-bit desktop. USB doesn't connect to update Palm from handheld.
Check with your ISP to see whether you can connect your Palm device to the Internet... Preferences screen, tell your Palm device how to connect to the Internet.
Palm Desktop and HotSync won't destroy the data on your device if you have a fresh copy that doesn't have your data backed up. That said, however, look for free utilities that will back up your TX's data to an SD card should HotSync wipe your TX as well.
Sounds like your net work or security key isn't right for that wifi network.
If you can do basic net things but just not sync then it could be that you need to put in the ip# for the computer that you are hotsyncing to so hotsync can find it.
HI, Yes if you go to palm.com you will find a section for support. You can download everything you need there to get your PDA up and running. Once you have the software installed on your computer you will want to go in and enter all your information like names and addresses in your contact section. Once you have that all done you connect the PDA to the computer by using the usb cord and then hit HotSync. You can go back later and update any of your infomation right in the PDA itself. Best wishes. Let me know if you need any other help with this.
Check the files on the Palm. If you see these two files (or either of them) AppSlipRotate.prc and StatusBarLib.prc delete the files and do another Hotsync.
They shouldn't be there - they were needed for the T3, so going from a Zire to a TX shouldn't bring them in - but possibly they were on the Palm already or something.
Is KsDatebook compatible with Palm? Palm suggests only two programs to sync calender files with Microsoft Outlook and the one that comes with the TX CD.
You must have Palm Desktop installed on your pc. You must have a serial cable from your pc to your handheld. You must have hotsync running on your taskbar. You must download the software to the Palm Desktop and then hotsync your Palm with the pc. You may not be starting the safe hotsync in the start menu before pressing the hotsync icon on your Palm. If it's not that, your pc may not be recognising your Palm device or you may not have your serial cable securely hooked up, or you may be trying to download software that's not compatible with your device. You also have to reset your device after installing most software. Make sure you have enough memory to hold the software.
look here for your files C:\Program Files\palmOne\[username]\Backup and C:\Program Files\palmOne\[username]\address
Now that you've made this mistake once, you probably want to get a backup program. I use the built in backup in Resco Explorer. They also make a stand alone application.
For your SD card backup might look at Bluesync. For a free option you can use the PFB (palm file browser), but I would still manually backup the card with a cardreader attached to the pc on occasion.
