Copy the entire cd contents to a new folder on your hard disk, locate the installer/launcher icon inside the folder "Setup.exe", select it and right click on it, go to properties. under compatibility select windows 98 or windows me. press apply or ok, then double click the icon. The program *should* launch properly and install your software. Its a problem with memory resource allocation being different on newer operating systems. (thus why the added the compatibility function for older programs)
cheers.

Can not install old version of paper port on 64 bit system

I am assuming you are using one of the newer version of windows, although you don't mention this. There is a free version of paperport you can download over the internet so you might like to try this. With windows you can install 32 bit versions of software onto 64 bit system and they will generally work fine. You should also try using "compatibility" mode which windows uses to help manage programs designed for older version of windows. I have some older software that wont work on anything other than windows XP so I have installed a virtual machine onto my 64 bit computer, then installed windows xp onto the virtual machine, and then installed the software I need to use. This is a bit tedious and time consuming but works perfectly and allows me to use my older software.

Installation of windows XP

preachw996 has it... you must enable the SATA drive you want to install XP onto as your 1st IDE DRIVE/DEVICE (ie. you are telling BIOS to dummy a SATA drive in to the 1st IDE position).

Only then will you be able to recognise the drive as a boot device.

This is done in BIOS.

Grab the software from Sandisk's website and try again. If that fails, upgrade your XP to SP2 or 3.

have you tried right clicking on the install icon and running it as administration?
With all new installed files that dont run as normal try running them as administration.
Hope this helps.
If not please post the exact error message that comes up when you click run.
Thanks
