Question about Bose Lifestyle 28 System

Bose Lifestyle 28 /Sound - no picture

Hi,
Hope you can help.  We've had our Bose Lifestyle for about 3 years now and it's always functioned fine.  Today, we moved the tv and components out to vacuum and when we returned them to their 'home' the Bose suddenly stopped putting out video.  We tried the obvious issues, such as loose and disconnected cables - to no avail.  Even tried turning off the power and resetting the tv and Bose.  This has happened once or twice before and my husband has managed to get things going again.  This time nada!  Is it possible the s-video cable simply crapped out?

well s video is a good picture it is not the best and when you kink one or bend it too far they are no good i recommend using either the rgb cables or YPbPr also known as component video either of these cables will provide better image than the s video

SOURCE: bose lifestyle 28 will not come on?

The Bose Lifestyle System has two power connection. One is the adaptor for the media center/DVD and the other one is the bass module/ subwoofer. Both has physical indicators showing that power is present. If your pwoer adaptor is ok, then the media center display should show "BOSE LIFESTYLE SYSTEMS" on startup. The bass module power module should be OK when you see a green blinking or steady linght underneath.

If only the media center/DVD has no display then there is something wrong with your pwer adaptor and should be sent for repair.

Hope I have helped you

Exactly how "broke" is the remote? (pictures help here, but if you don't know how to post one, or how to keep it under 150KB in size, then be as descriptive as possible in a REPLY to this post.

Bose Lifestyle 28 Sound Problem

I also get this problem sometimes with mine. Usually when you call Bose they suggest that you do a "hard" reset meaning you unplug the power cord from the wall and wait about one min. Then plug the unit back in and it should work.
The other thing that you can try if the system still isn't working is to check that all the wires running into and out of the sub-woofer are all plugged in and aren't loose.

If either of these two solutions don't work you can alway call Bose tech support @ 1-877-210-3782 (they are open Monday Friday: 8:30 AM 8:00 PM ET)

PS3 to Bose Lifestyle 28

hey, this is how i have mine set up.

Bose to PS3 via Digital Audio Optical
PS3 to TV via HDMI

This way you can get Full 5.1 surround sound, and good picture quality, also, go to the bose menu and set the optical source to your PS3.

I can't get my remote to work. I have replaced the batteries, but still have no function. It has been working fine for 3 years, and today is the first time I've had any problem with it.

if you shake it gently can you hear any sound? If so you may have a broken wire inside your remote you can solder it if you have the tools

Connecting lifestyle 27/38 to psp3

Your Bose system doesn't lead sound trough hdmi.
You must connect the optical cable with your lifestyle.
Change the sound connectionsettings in the menu of your ps3.

You also need to assgn the optical connection in the setup menu of the lifesyle. e.g. optical=aux.

(Bose lifestyle 28) DVD picture is distorted, shadowy and difficult to discern

Try the settings setup and adjust the brightness, video format, or video black level. If you're using component connections then adjust the video output. You can scroll system setup through the remote control settings button.
