Re: subwoofer output

There could be a number of reasons causing this malfunction, try replacing the subwoofer's cord, it might be damaged, you can also try reseting the system to the factory settings according to the following instructions: Reset Instructions: 1. Press the power button to turn off the power 2. Press the power button while pressing the ENTER button. (note: this will reset all memory) Good Luck

Won't turn on after power outage, is there a reset button?

Was it a simple outage or a surge? You may have something as simple as a blown fuse. However, before opening the set, make certain it is unplugged. Better safe than sorry.

I have an Aiwa AVD57 and the unit won't turn. I tried pressing power and enter together and nothing happens

There is a fuse inside. If it blows when you replace it there it could ba a problem in the standby power circuit.

Power lite is on but nothing happens when power on is pushed

Check your Speaker control button. Most receivers have a small button on the front used to control your choice of Speaker Set A, B, A & B, or NONE. It's possible you have inadvertently pressed the button and set it to where no speaker set is selected. Therefore, no sound.
Another probable cause is that one of your speaker cables may have become dislodged at the back, and if your system has an overload control mechanism, it's preventing sound to come out to avoid damaging your output transistors, your speaker system, or both.
The last (I hope not) possibility is that the volume may have been cranked up too high, that either the output resistors may have blown on your receiver, or your speakers may have given out the ghost due to too high a signal.
Good luck!

Did the reset and nothing

You need the remote control to turn the subwoofer on and off. There are no controls on the subwoofer. This is the most ridiculous design ever.

Anyway, on the RC-AAR02 remote, press the "Manual Select" in the upper right corner. You'll see "SUBWOOFER OFF" on the display. Then, use the tuner up/down ON THE RECEIVER (not the remote) to turn the sub on. Confounded? Yes.

Turn the receiver on, then press the little button in the remote that says "Shift" with blue letters , then press button with number 2 in it. If you notice it also says "clock" in blue letters. Hold Shift and clock with the receiver on then use the multijog dial, the big round thing in the middle, and set the time.
