I tried to hookup the jht 140. several different ways video 1, 2, and 3 on video 3 i get only a squiggly b&w picture. Any solutions?

WizI suspect that the problem is your dvd isn't set on the same system as the tv.
What I mean is try to change first in the tv options from pal/ntsc/secam?
To the option that fits you best.
You can try doing it threw the dvd option if the tv doesn't support this option.
