Question about Flat Panel Televisions
A large smudge has appeared on the right hand side of the screen only right along the edge of the screen and appears worse with certain colours - dark colours accentiate the smudge while light colours one can hardly see the smudge. It almost looks like a water stain
IT SHOULD NOT NEED A "REPAIR" PER SAY. HOWEVER, I OWN AN LCD TV, BUT NOT A PROTRON. YOU'RE GONNA FIND THIS PROBLEM WITH ALL LCD TV'S. IT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS SIMPLY DIRTY. THIS IS THE WAY YOU CLEAN YOUR SCREEN. IT IS VERY EASY AND FAST, AND YOU SHOULD HAVE THE SOLUTION IN YOUR KITCHEN AND BATHROOM. TAKE THE CLEANEST, MOST SOFT CLOTH YOU HAVE IN YOUR HOUSE. DAMPEN,NOT SOAK IT, WITH WATER, AND LIGHTLY RUB A SMALL SECTION OF THIS STAIN, AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. IF THIS DOES NOT WORK, ADD A SMALL AMOUNT OF SIMPLE RUBBING ALCOHOL, AND TRY ANOTHER SMALL SPOT OF THE STAIN. IT SHOULD COME OFF. SOME OF MY "HI-TECH" FRIENDS USE STRAIGHT RUBBING ALCOHOL, AS IT HAS A TENDENCY TO EVAPORATE A LOT FASTER THAN WATER AND LESS LIKELY TO LEAVE ANY "WATER STAINS". HOWEVER, IF YOU CANNOT SEE THROUGH THIS STAIN, THEN YOU'RE BETTER OFF BUYING A NEW TV. SOUNDS LIKE SOME KIND OF LEAK OR MAYBE THE TV IS JUST NEVER SHUT OFF, THEREFORE BURNING IMAGES INTO THE SCREEN. FORTUNATELY, IF IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, YOU MAY GET HELP THERE. MY FIANCE TOUCHED THE LCD SCREEN WITH HIS FINGERS, AND IF YOUR FINGERS ARE DIRTY, THEY WILL LEAVE OIL STAINS. PEOPLE DO SOMETHING TO A PRIZE POSSESSION IN YOUR HOUSE, DONT TELL YOU THEN ACT LIKE THEY DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. ITS HILARIOUS. HOPEFULLY THE ISSUE YOU HAVE CAN BE FIXED BY YOU!

Most likely it's the LCD panel failure. You can replace the panel if you can find a spare part. But the new panel may cost you as much as to buy a new tv. Hope that will help you.

on some tv's you can get to the menu by pushing both the channel up and down buttons at the same time.

Its probably a defective toner. If the film on the toner drum is scratched it can cause toner to stick to the drum everytime it spins causing the constant marks.

The fact that it's printing anything suggests that it is not a Toner problem. Remove the toner, and have a look at the run inside the printer, checking for any excess toner which is in there. Also, check the Drum and Imaging Unit for damage, wear and tear etc. There will also be a static strip near the imager, with a little tab which you can sweep across the unit to clean it.

SOURCE: toner smudge/how to clean?
Inside the printer there is a piece called a "blade". After a sheet is printed then the blade's job is to run across the toner cartridge and clean up all the toner. If the blade is not working properly then you will get excess toner. So the blade needs to be changed. You can change it yourself, by looking for instructions off of the internet or have a repair shop do it...here is a website just to give you an idea of what I am talking about. Any questions let me know.
Pls rate this solution with 4 diamonds.
