The 2 larger power supply capacitors need replacing.
These are prone to leaking on this particular model and cause
the display to flicker.
Depending on how bad the leakage, if you take the lid off you
may see evidence of this around where the power transformer lead
plugs into the main PCB.

Vertical lines

It sounds like dead pixels in the LCD display. the only way to get rid of the lines is to replace the Display unit in the laptop. This can be a very expensive repair so I'd check it in with an IT professional first.

TV quits working, screen goes black and red light next to power green light flashes 4 quick flashes . After a second or two of no flashing, red light repeats "code" flash. We pull the power plug at the TV,...

The Sony diagnostic routine for 4 blinks indicates it to be a vertical deflection problem.

Did you see a solid horizontal line in the center of the screen prior to it going out? If so, that is a tell tale sign for vertical problems.

basic sony reset below

The STANDBY light will flash if the television detects an issue within the television. Some of these issues can be resolved simply by following the steps below to reset the television.

  1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
  2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
  5. Turn on the television.

If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required. Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center

Got a playstation display and it has a bluish purple vertical line down the tv but it disappears when any red shows up in thae area of the line any ideas what's wrong with it and if it can be fixe

The display unit is defective, some IC seems to be damaged, it can be repaired from any repair shop, but I don't think the cost will be low, as the display is manufactured by Sony and the spares are not available easily .

Red vertical line down right side of the screen

hi

I think your TV have a trouble inside lcd panel
the controller board contains driver IC. Deffective driver IC can cause of line display.

Three reasons why one vertical line accross screen can happen in LCD;

1.The missing signal from the controller IC to
LCD driver.
2. LCD driver IC itself defective
3. Dry contact in the tape carrier package.

Use masking or electrical tape to mark it where the line was located. press it if the line back to normal but when release your hand came back i think it was intermittent. Open the LCD panel

Vertical Lines on Screen

Either the cable has come loose, or the display is going out.

I would call Toshiba and see what warranty is left ...

LCD Displaying Red instead of Black, Vertical Lines in Display

I had a similar problem where the screen went to a pink shade periodically. Sony sent me a memory stick, with download instructions, that fit into one of the back ports. The problem has gone away. It was a software correction.

Vertical red line on my Vizio plasma

Spent 3 hours removing all what seemed like 100 freaken screws.

Took out the OEM 038A, caution the factory placed some type of heat transfer silicon clear grease on the back of the board so it will feel like it is glued on. Just be very carefull and gentle when prying it apart.

Be warned, you will need a magnifying glas to check those little resistors. They all checked out, no broken solders.

What I did observe is the grease melted down the back of the board and puddled at the bottom of the board and where the resistors sit.

I used rubbing alcohol to clean it all up but left the reside on the square pads. Cleaned the resistors and used a dry paint brush to dust of any lint.

Placed the component back and after 10 minutes the Vertical Red Line Disappeared.

Turned on the set next morning it was still gone. 10 minutes later it re-appeared for a couple of minutes then went away.

I spoke to a kind gentlemen at Electronica-USA.com, he stated that the 060Q is an upgrade to the defective proned 038A ( 038C is also an upgrade ). A tech in Cali stated the 060Q worked perfectly. He has had zero complaints about the 060Q in the Vizio plus he offers a 90 day return policy. Funny thing is the 060Q was designed for LG and Goldstar Plasmas but for some reason they do not work for them but do work for Vizio's. He even states that on his site.

As I type the red line is still gone and stayed off several hours last night.

I think I am going to pull the trigger and replace the 038A to the 060Q and be done with it.

Oh yeah, I asked him if the 060Q needs to be "flashed" with the Vizio program. He never heard of it requiring it.

He has 038C on order they are couple of bucks cheaper. the 060Q is $224 plus S&H.

I found on ebay for $184 free shipping but waiting for the guy to verify no "flash" requirement.

Hope this helps someone.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

P.S. use a power screwdriver, your wrist will thank you. I put mine on low torque as not to strip the heads.

Vertical lines in my laptop screen

There can be 3 possible reasons for this
1)Screen connector cable is loose. You can try to re-seat it and see if works.
2)display card problem. Connect your laptop to an external monitor and see if the problem persists. If it does not then
3)You will need to get a replacement LCD screen.
Hope this helps!

Mitsubushi vs4541 red, blue, green vertical lines no picture, very good sound

Try soldering the vertical output IC, sound without picture usually means vertical output is either defective or has bad solder joints. Does your on screen displays work when you press menu?
