So, i've had my canon printer for a long time now...probably as much as 4-5 years and it has worked great until today. I tried to print anything in black...photos, text, etc. But it doesn't work. So i went to go buy a new black cartridge and tried printing again, but again nothing happened. However when i do a nozzle check for the printer, black comes out perfectly! I was wondering what is happening... As well I am running vista and printing wirelessly in a shared printer connection. However, my main computer (the one connected directly to the printer) does not work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Re: Canon i560 Black Ink Problems.
The driver for Vista may have been corrupted . . . by Vista.
Delete the printer from the Printers and Faxes folder, then reboot.
If the gods are smiling on you, itshould 'find' the printer and install a new driver for it.
This may fix the problem but if it doesn't, you should next go to Canon's site and download the latest driver for your machine specifically for Vista.

after a month of not using the printer, most probably the print head is clogged.. try using the printer utility to clean the print head.. it's under the printer properties.. normally that should resolve the print missing issue...unless your print head is really clogged up... some would suggest to partial soak the print head onto warm water..but it doesn't work everytime..
This is something that needs to be done by a service department..... however it may not be full. Cannon has a 3 year clock on these so you may be able to clear the error code and continue printing.
