you will need the power specs of each unit, look on the tv and computer near where they plug in, should be tagged right there or somewhere close. by law it has to be tagged. if not right there keep looking . and yes it is specific.

If anyone would like a Power adapter for their Ultra LCD30-500 and LCD40-500- please email me Acosta.email@example.com... And I’ll be able to order one… I too own a Ultra Lcd40-500 HDTV. Bought it from HSN.com back in 2006. My power adapter burned out 2 weeks ago, and to my dismay PWW, or should I say POS has gone bankrupt. I looked everywhere online and here in San Jose,CA thinking I would find a replacement or at least someone that could repair the blown capacitor( 630v vpmm), thermitors(IRFD460A) and varistor( SCK206). After calling every power supply company, distributor, and retailer, had no luck finding a match to this crazy looking 9din pin adapter. Disappointed I gave up on a replacement and took it to various repair shops for repair and was told without schematic would be nearly impossible to replicate the power Output. Finally this one shop was able to replace the burned out components and it seem to work at the store. When I got home with it..no luck..red light would come on…but no light on screen. L Not wanting to give up or trash my LCD. It was time to dig further…I did some research through my employer; a SemiConductor company here in Santa Clara, CA. Needless to say this power adapter has driven me crazy….It has been exhausting... But finally just yesterday I got the break needed…I found a manufacturer in Taiwan that has these power supplies for both the Ultra lcd 30" and 40". I was told they only sell to Component or Electronic Suppliers. I’ve asked my employer to see if I would be able to order one on their behalf using their account. Happy ending! My power supply is on it’s way. I was told it could take up to 4weeks for delivery. But I’m just glad to have a replacement.
Hyundai and I would be surprised is Sampo use Samsung parts. They may have mixed and matched compatible parts. The Hyundai I'm working on has almost Samsung everything. I wouldn't worry too much so long as the service place has a good reputation and stands behind their work. They may have replaced a video board that had different spec ratings.
I had a power supply issue with my TV too. I was able to repair it. But, during my research I cam across a store which does sale the power supply. The cost is $150 and can be purchase at fox international. Though it it is not listed on the online e-store, you can call and give them your TV model and let them know you are looking for a power supply board The web site is www.fox-international.com. Then click on the e-store link or call 1-800-321-6993.
