Question about HP Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a HP pavilion dv7 1016nr. Listening to music through it sucks. I get a crackling sound on every track. I've gone back and played the track again to be sure it isn't my files. I.ve tried my music files on itunes and streamed music from Pandora. I get the same crackling/breaking up noise when I plug into my external setup(JBL).Music videos also do it without a hiccup in the video portion of the file. Some "entertainment series". Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your help. I have completely solved the problem. I installed the updated drivers and the problem persisted. Add to this the fact that the fingerprint scanner didn't work (right out of the box they wanted me to send it out for repair) and the constant headache with Vista. My solution...I sent it back and bought an iMac. By far the best move I've ever made. For the same $1500 I got a computer that is so easy and intuitive, 500G hard drive plus a 20" LCD display. Sure I can't take it out on the deck but the HP was a desktop replacement anyway. The sound is great and I've been on it non-stop without a single control-alt-del, end task or freeze up. No more PCs for me. I'm a convert.
    A very satisfied convert.

I have encountered several HP Pavilions with similar problems.

First of all I would suggest muting any input sources in windows volume control. (microphone (mic); line-in; auxiliary; etc.)
P.S. Voice communication software like Skype work better with the micophone muted anyway, because that way the sound recieved by the mic does not get echoed through your speakers.

If that doesn't help then I suggest updating the audio driver. The latest one can be found here:

Hope that helps.

My jvc UX-D66 B micro system sound is very distorted and crackles when listening to music I checked the wires and they are fine it is the same through aux what could be the problem any advice please

You may have blown the speakers by playing too loud. Try listening with a pair of quality headphones. If the sound is clear through them - then the speakers are most likely the problem.

Sennheiser HD 205 crackle when listening to music

If the crackling occurs only when opening windows or another program, the crackling is not due to the headphones but to a lack of CPU resources in your computer settings.
If you are in Windows 7,
  1. click the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818.jpg, and then click Control Panel. In the search box, type Performance Information and Tools, and then, in the list of results, click Performance Information and Tools.
  2. Click Adjust visual effects. 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b_48.jpg If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. Click the Visual Effects tab, click Adjust for best performance, and then click OK.

Good day! I've had a crashed HDD in my laptop. It was just 10 day years old. 500Gb, 7200 rpm, 2.5" size. I dont know presently a Brand name of this HDD. Description of phenomenon: I was...

Is 10 days old or 10 years old? I'm going to assume its 10 days old. In this case you should take it back to where you bought it from. Vibrations from playing music should not damage it and its likely the HDD was faulty.

My hp mini sounds distortd when i play music like a crackling sound

update the sound drivers. most of the time when crackling happens it comes from bad drivers. if that does not solve it, then check the levels of the speakers. if all of that is fine then you may have blown your speakers from playing them excessively loud

HP Pavilion Dv6 Speakers wont work!

Download the latest drivers from the hp website for your computer.Un-install the present one and reboot your computer.Install the drivers once windows come up.This should take care of it.If not it could be your os.Last thing you should consider is the sound card itself which is built on the motherboard.
Good luck
