Camera kept turning itself off and now won't go back on at all

I've just been trying to use my camera and everytime i tried to take a photo, i'd click the button and then the screen would go blank and the power would go off. Once or twice, it had captured a photo and the screen would be half blank with a blacked out photo in the screen showing through.
I turned it off fully, turned it back on and it said empty battery, I got a fresh pair in, turned it on, tried to take a photo and it went off again.

I turned off the camera again (so that the lens goes back in) and now it won't go on at all.

I've been having problems where the flash has stopped working for a while so I know it's a bit faulty, but I'm really at a loss with this and I can't afford a new camera right now. Anyone have any idea whats wrong and whether it's fixable? And if it's possible for me to do that, and not something complicated that a shop has to do?

same exact problem as above....and yes the batteries are making a connection, like im so stupid i didnt think of that?

Same problem here...and no its not a battery problem because if you can get it to come on, you can quickly switch it over to the display/review mode and the camera will stay on as long as you want it to...and of course all i hear is: "im sorry ma'am your warranty is up, repairs will be $65"

I also have the same problem. Camera only 9 months old. I really liked it up till now...mine is also not a battery issue. I have tried everything and my husband has too.

My camera shows a full battery after installing 2 fresh batteries. After I take one photo the camera flashes "Battery Empty" and the camera shuts off and when turning it back on it shows a completely depleated battery and shuts off - making the camera un-useable!!!. If I stay in "scene" or "menu" the camera will stay on for hours.

I am throwing this thing out unless someone has any ideas. Thanks.

Check the battery door to see if the contacts are making good contact with the battery.

My camera says the memory card is locked and memory card error appears when I turn on the camera. I've read that I have to format the card, but won't the photos be destroyed? How can I get my pictures

There is a tab on the memory card so you will you need to remove it from the camera and change the position of this tab to "unlock" it. DO NOT format the card until you've BACKED UP your files from it (typically to a PC or USB drive (stick or external hard drive).

Hello, I have a Lumix DMC-FS10, I have found that some of my photos have downloaded to thumbprint size which won't seem to go any bigger without distortion and some are normal I unfortunately deleted...

Actually, you still might be able to get those photos back, even though they've been erased. Try not to take any more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones.
This sounds like the problem may have occurred because you might not have formatted the card in your camera as recommended by the manufacturer. If true, after you've recovered your photos, format the card in your camera using the camera's format feature. This will prevent this from happening again.

How do I reset the JPG file name back to 1 on my Kodak C183.... I've taken hundreds of photo's and it keeps incrementing the file name by 1 everytime I take a photo -- I need to track what number...

I must advise against doing that. If you do, every time you try to download pics to the computer, it will think you've already downloaded pics with those numbers and either refuse to do it or it will erase the previous pics to make room for the new ones.

Everytime I try to connect my camera to the computer to share my photos it cuts off and want turn back on when I insert the cord and the camera cant share or less the camera is on soon as I take the card...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Memory card blocked!!

First of all with a Casio camera Casio will only guarantee the camera to work with Panasonic, Toshiba and Sandisc memory cards. If it is not one of those three brands I would go buy one of those brands. Make sure you format your memory card with the camera before using it for the first time. As for the other memory card try using a program like cardrecovery.com and see if you can still pull your pictures off that card. I bet they are still there. :)

Everything is working ok, however, when i take a photo it turns out with too much light in it. Before taking the photo the picture is in normal colour fucus. The menu has not been changed or any buttons...

hi Are you sure that the exposure setting of your camera is kept in 0 position?.. if it is in +ve compensation the image will get over exposed under normal lighting condition. If exposure is set to 0 , you try to do a factory reset . If this not solving your problem then it must be the problem with the camera firmware, get the new firmware updated from olympus. all the best sreejith
