Remove the 4 screws that create a square in the center of the back. You should be able to pull the base out.

How much will it cost me to e replace a dynex lcd 42 inch flat screen tv

Dynex is not a seller of TV's up to that size. The closest I could find is a 37" Class / 1080p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV on amazon.
You can see it Here:

I have a DYNEX 42"

Do you have a cable or satellite box connected to the TV? If so the box is probably what is providing the Closed Caption and not the TV.

Do all flat screens use different bases

Flatscreens made by the same manufacturer and of similar screen size may share the type of base but mostly they are different.

For example a 27" Sony may have the same base as a 32"Sony, but it will be different than a 46" Sony.

The specifications and the OWNER'S MANUAL for your tv is found at the following link:

The direct link to your OWNER'S MANUAL is here:

It looks like DYNEX uses the same base for their 37" and their 42" tv's but that's not guaranteed.

Good luck and comment back if this was helpful.

I need Code for Dynex 37" TV lcd

Hey, this is Nick Franta with DISH.

You can try these codes for a Dynex: 720, 115, 111, 001, 603, 834, and 969. The 720 code has the highest success rate so I would try that one first.

If you need any further assistance you can always check out this website and pick your remote.

Dynex 37" LCD TV bad color

You have a bad LCD control board going bad,Color getting floresent? Or pixely? esp. when you have it on for a bit. Common prop. But finding parts is a prob.
They are no longer in buis. Try Shop Jimmy,or even Ebay. Encompass does not have any. Runs about 40-60.

Remove base from TV

Remove 4 screws holding the vertical metal bracket in place. These are located just above the bottom of the rear centre of the TV. The bracket will then slide out.

You might find it easier to remove the footplate first. Simply remove all screws from the bottom of the base. The metal plate and the plastic shield will then detach.
