Good luck.... maybe they'll just tell you it's a driver problem.... but unfortunately I highly doubt it :(

Screen flickers screen goes pinkish colour on dottom right corner

Your hardware might be faulty. You should try to troubleshoot the problem by bringing your laptop to the nearest repair centre. The driver is good but i guess the screen itself need to be replaced.

I have tried holding the zero key while pressing the start button on my toshiba satellite, but it does nothing to bring up any recovery.

Try hitting any of the following keys:
  • F8 (should bring up the windows boot screen, and on there you should see "Repair your Computer" or something similar).
  • esc
  • del
  • f7
  • r
  • c
  • ~
  • home
I believe F8 is the one you need to hit, but the others are keys I've seen to be various boot options in the bios. Note: F8 needs to be hit after the BIOS screen but before the loading windows screen.

How long have you bought your laptop? If it's still under warranty (specially the battery), bring it back to where you purchase it and tell them the detail. You have problems with your battery that's why you cannot fully charge it and it easily drain. The problem with 3 to 4 times pressing the power button is that when you put your power chord, it will take a moment for the battery to charge an enough power to start your laptop, but I believe nothing is wrong with the switch. It's basically a battery matter. Word of advise, if you have the chance to replace your battery, do not overcharge and do not keep the power chord attached to your laptop most of the time. Allow your battery to reach the lowest level once in a while. This will help you maintain a healthy battery.

Bad news. Your GPU is going out. (graphics chip) You will need professional repair or replace the motherboard. Excessive heat causes this so I am guessing an obstructed fan exhaust.

I am sorry to say but I do not believe there is anything anyone one here can say that can help you. I think the best thing you can do is bring it in to a shop to get it looked at by someone. (Bring it to a repair center not an electronic store to be shipped out.)

DC input jack broken

Yes it's not usually something that can be repaired at home. Your chances are better if the jack just seems loose and not actually broken, however replacing it is better. I work for a Laptop Repair Shop in NYC and we deal with this issue frequently.
