Question about E.Digital DCR-PC106E DIGITAL CAMCORDER

Sony handycam dcr-pc106e pal

After taking a video,  on playback it shows grey lines across the screen left to right with only parts of the picture showing in between I think it maybe the video recording head, but on a visual inspection the head looks clean ??

Video head is dirty / clogged, please use good quality video head cleaning cassette.

Sounds like the video heads require cleaning.
It may be best to take the camera to a Service Centre.

Sony has a recall on some of these ccd imager problems. Contact Sony to see if your model applies, but it sounds like an imager problem on your pal format camcorder. Larry

Grey lines during playback.


Hi,
Camcorder video head required cleaning because gray lines come in playback when video head got clogged/ dirty.
Put video head cleaning tape and playback it as per instructions.

When transferring (or watching) video from this Sony DCR-TRV530


Sounds video head is dirty / clogged.
Use good quality video-8 head cleaning tape for head cleaning in DCR-TRV530 and then record and playback it.

No picture displayed on lcd (blank)


Does your camera playback old recordings fine? and just can't show live view to record?
If yes, then camera has problem of bad ccd imager and this part will be replaced.
Sony announced free of cost repair scheme for subject problem. DCR-HC20E is PAL system camera so Sony Support UK can be visited for free of cost repair details as your camera model is listed there.

Sony Handycam issue - repair/replace?


Hi,

Solution for DCR-TRV19:
Your camera has problem of CCD Imager and this part will be replaced to get live view in LCD and viewfinder to record.
Sony will repair this problem free of cost including shipping as per scheme. Please click Sony CCD Support USA for details. If you are not in USA, let me know.

Solution for DCR-PC106E (this is PAL model)
You can download Vista driver update from Sony Vista Support UK.

Sony dcr-trv120 playback


the problem is with the video head. either it's dirty or broken. if cleaning tape is not solving the problem then i fear you have to get the head changed. an expensive repair.
