Question about Sangean America HD Radio Component Tuner
My Sangean HDT-1 HD receiver shows no alpha numeric info, only a blue
back light lights up. This is the second receiver I've had that has done this.
Is this a common problem? I hate to give up using it for the sensitivity and
the selectivity. And I have an antenna and rotor that I would hate not to be
able to use. Any info you provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
PS--Second replacement only worked for 4 days.
Hi David, I can't seem to find that this is a common problem (at least not yet). Hopefully the unit is still under some sort of warranty. I might suggest looking for a model hdt-1X that has the .4 version of firmware. Apparently with the .3 version the display is never turned off (even when the unit is in the "off" mode). With the .4 version you can dim the display and it will turn off when the unit is in standby mode. For other differences see this link: http://www.ham-radio.com/k6sti/hdt-1x.htm Sorry I don't have any better solution for you at this time but I will keep a watch out and post any further findings. Happy Trails ...... Jack
