where'd you get the idea that p5q means ' quick boot up time '?

By the way, Asus doesn't build Intel motherboards, Intel builds intel motherboards and Asus builds Asus motherboards, some of them with Intel chipsets. All the brand name manufacturers do that, however some the cheapest manufacturers use primarily SIS and VIA chipsets only to keep the cost of manufacturer down.
I suggest you visit the Asus manufacturer website if you want to find out what the company has to say about their designations.
I don't think it would be proper for us to start telling you what you want. There are motherboards for every taste and budget. Only you should make those decisions.

One of the better vendor sites is http://www.newegg.com where there are a few ways to do something close to what you want. There is a compare feature that allows you to do a side by side comparison of many different boards, feature by feature. The other tool they have is a power search, where you can select the various features you want: type of processor, SATA ports, PATA ports, USB, Firewire, Wi-Fi, Lan, etc. I am not aware of any feature decoder for their designations.

There are a couple of different versions of your board. This is Asus's link:

You can change the search. Regardless of model, they seem to have Realtek sound ALC883. If you can't get it from Asus, try here:

or here:

This last one is for Windows 7 AC97 codec. I believe you would need the High Definition software but, it's worth a try.
