Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Questions or Comments: I had a quick question about a stereo system I was thinking about buying. The system in question is the Sony - 560W 5-Disc Mini Hi-Fi Stereo System with Dual Cassette Decks - Black Model: LBTZX6 and my question is can I hook my laptop or other device such as an ipod up to it. In the features it says it plays mp3s but im curious as to if it will directly connect to my laptop so that I may choose music on my laptop to play through the stereo system. If so how might I do that, I would require a chord of some sort Im sure; but if you could also tell me what chord I would need it would be much appreciated. Thank you very much.
Here is a link to the specs if that would assist you.
It appears that this stereo does have audio input on it. It has a front A/V input that you could use for your laptop. You need a mini-stereo (3.5 mm) jack to RCA cord to connect your laptop with it. On the laptop you should have an audio output that is normally a green connector jack and that is where you connect the laptop. The mini-stereo jack looks like a headphone jack. You can get the mini-stereo to RCA cord at Radio Shack or Best buy. The RCA end would connect to the input of the Stereo on the red and white RCA inputs. Then you can play music on the laptop and listen to it on the stereo, just make sure the stereo is set to the proper function (whatever you connected the laptop to) and the audio of the laptop is turned up to a sufficient volume level (max volume is OK). It is very easy to connect the two together. I hope this makes sense to you, if you want me to explain it better just let me know.

You can use any analog Audio input out of 3 at rear of this system to listen laptop sound. Audio Cord is required to hook up and its look like red-white RCA pins at one end and other end is like headphone stereo jack for laptop. Audio Cord is available at Sony Part Center.
Hope above info will help you.
