Laserwriter 4/600 to G5 via asante talk

Can't find printer, need help. thanks.

also have a G5 and Asantetalk. The computer "sees" the printer, but when I try to print I get a message that says that the printer is busy - even though there is nothing else in the queue and the printer light does not blink. Appletalk does not see the printer, and LPD is what I am trying at this point. no luck so far - does anyone know how to get this to work? thanks.

Have been struggling with the same problem for quite awhile, and this solution worked perfectly for us. Thanks!

The wonderful Asante tech support people in San Jose, CA, talked me through this fix last week:

This is for system 10.5.x.
1. Delete that printer from your list of printers in System Preferences.
2. Make sure your computer, printer, and Asante box are all hooked up together and turned on.
3. Click + under the list of printers in System Preferences.
4. Click AppleTalk icon in top row of dialogue box that appears.
5. After a moment, click Bluetooth icon instead.
6. After a moment, unplug the power cord from your Asante box (but not from the electrical outlet).
7. After a moment, re-plug the power cord into your Asante box and, as soon as possible after the "TX" light comes on, click the AppleTalk icon again.
8. Within a few moments, your printer's name should appear. Highlight its name, then make sure all the information about it that appears is correct, then click "Add."
9. Everything should communicate beautifully. I had no further problems.

Short time between bluetooth charges

You should have up to 4 hrs talk time, and 180 hrs of standby.

Make sure you charge the 2050 until the l.e.d. turns off. As long as the light is on, its still charging.

If you did that, I would return the unit for exchange, your may have a defective battery.

Transceiver signal interference

The FT-840 uses a die-cast RF power amp with thermally switched fan to ensure full power output (up to 100 watts). The digitally synthesized local signals ensure clean, low-noise transmitter output on all HF amateur band. There might be no AC line interference. it has strong Rf output. any AC line intersect does not affect its radio performance. Check and adjust RF power so to maintain proper output. some times more RF power generated at the output may cause interference. adjust Rf power..Even some unfiltered Noise getting the other end of the end may calso cause interference. Check for any Ripple voltages present at the output. Contact authorised service station for further Rectification. thank you shanth

Laser writer select 360 to Mac OS X 10.4.11 via AsanteTalk

You should phone the Asante tech support people in San Jose, CA, who will talk you through the fix for free. I lost my printer-MacPro connection, the other day, and everything works fine now, thanks to their advice.

I'm running 10.5.x and no WiFi so the fix may not be the same, but it was just a matter of sort of re-booting the Asante box. Here was my fix, if that helps:

XE103 stealing bandwidth

Just a wild guess based on your description is that your hub steps down the network to match the slowest network device on the chain, and it's seeing a device on the far end of one of your XE103's running at 10Mb or maybe even 1Mb depending on the location of the XE103 and the structural resistance of your building. Hubs generally match network speed for all ports where a router is generally port independent.
