Question about Dryers
We have a Kenmore Elite King Size Dryer (gas-LP) and I am trying to figure out how to access the inside to see if it needs cleaning or the rollers or some other part needs replacing. It makes a buzzing noise while running that stops when the dryer stops (a second sound - a roller sound keeps going until the drum stops).
OK, Kenmore,.... I don't work on many of them, but,....
Disconnect power. You have to lift the top to gain access to the screws near the top which hold the front panel to the sides. If it has a top lint filter, you will most likely have to remove the screws holding that to the top, then use a putty knife to release the spring clips at the top of the front panel. Sounds like the blower wheel is spinning freely on the motor shaft, requiring replacement of blower wheel.
