SOURCE: printer keeps saying paper jam

we had the same problem at the college where i work. the print queue had somehow clogged up to such a point where the printer was doing this. the constant paper jam light & the printer taking paper when printing test sheets etc. we solved it by deleting the printer & then re-installing the drivers. may not work for everyone, but it certainly worked for us.

SOURCE: Paper Jam

I can suggest that the printer is trying to feed papers but it couldn't. check the feeding rubbers (Pickup rollers) and if neccessary, clean them up with soap and let them until they get dry. that should make it work.

SOURCE: paper jam ,no paper jam found Dell 1815dn

give this a try

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

SOURCE: Printer keeps saying there is a paper

Hi there ok Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

I have a brand new 800 Epson printer, when I turned it on for the first time it keeps saying jammed paper and I haven't even put paper in it yet

I suggest you return it to the shop and ask for a replacement printer as it is covered by warranty. Do not try to fix it because you most likely will void your warranty.

The printer keeps saying there is a paper jam and there isn't one

All you do is take out all the paper and put it back in. if that doesnt work try unplugging the printer and plugging it back in/turning it off then turning it back on. if all else fails try just totally restarting thw whole thing. Good luck! :)

My canon Mp 140 keeps Flashing E 3 after I removed the paper that was jammed.

From what I've seen, unplug this machine for about 15 minutes or just forget about it for a while and go back later and plug it in. make sure the paper isn't jammed. If the code persists, let me know.

I have a 5650 lexmark printer and it keeps saying paper jams but there is not paper anywhere.. how can i find a solution... when you load paper it keepps getting stuck.. help

There could be something blocking the paper path. Try to shake the printer upside down. You'll be amazed of the things that falls off inside the printer. Also, make sure that there's no paper left inside the printer. Tiny pieces of paper will still lead to paper jams.

My deskjet F2400 keeps saying paper jam, there isn't one. it will not print at all now.

One of the paper sensors most likely has dirt in it, Check the paper path and if you have access to an air compressor you can blow any dust out.

Hi, the printer is saying paper jam when there isn't one. it won't scan or copy from the glass and will copy from the paper feed but only 1 copy and then comes up paper jam again. if you turn the...

there are many spring loaded switches within a printer that monitor the location of a sheet of paper, it is possible that one of these switches got stuck and is the cause of your problem. Printers can be quite difficult to work on, so I would recommend taking it to a local repair shop to have it looked at. If the switch is simply stuck it may be a quick and easy repair.

Another thing to look at is to make sure all of the rollers that feed the paper through your printer are moving, if one is stuck it could be giving you the same error.

Reads paper jam, and theres no paper in the printer.

Hello winky22titan,

I would try first unplugging the printer from the wall (don't turn it off first) then leaving it for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, plug it back in and if you want you can put some paper in to see if it jams but it shouldn't. The printer should be working fine after this.

Glad to help!
