Question about Verbatim Electronics - Others

Need Win98 Driver

Helllo,

I am hoping you can help! The Win98 driver I downloaded from the Verbatim website does not work. Verbatim support stated the newer version of the Store 'n' Go USB Drive does not support Win98. Is there a "generic" USB driver that can be used?

Thanks

- Mike

Hello Mike

I had the same problem. I found the drive for (Win98SE) I needed on the Verbatim europe site, hope this works for you. Note: make sure you take note of which serial number you have, it is in very small writting on the side of the stick.

Also Mike after you download the program, you must restart Windows, then plug in the stick, Windows will build a driver base for it.

The program is working fine for me.

Win 98se detects cruzer blade 4GB but no driver software is available

The problem is that WIN98 does not have a USB driver unless you can download it from somewhere.
I suggest you upgrade Windows to at least WIN ME which will support USB devices.

Is there a driver download for imac to get my verbatim reader & writer for compactflash to work?

Hi there.

There shouldn't be a driver required for your compactflash. It should be as simple as 'Plug and Play' (meaning: plug it in, and it should appear as an icon on your desktop).

However, to clarify this for you. Please supply the following information:

1. Name and Model of the Verbatim compact flash drive.
2. Is it New? IF so; Where did you buy it from? (IF New, you may need to have it replaced with another one.)

Sometimes Drives (whether USB or not) just fail. This can be for a variety of reasons.

One way you can check your disc drive is to use the Disk First Aid utility (now called : DISK Utility) which can be located in your Utilities folder.

1. Click on the Desktop.
2. Press Command-Shift-A (opens the Applications Folder).
3. Open the Utilities folder.
4. Open the Disk Utility application.

This utility will show you what disc drives are connected (in the left of the window) and from there you can choose to First Aid (Repair) the disc Drive etc...

I hope this helps. Let me know how you go. Please rate. Regards,

Looking for a driver download

You can download a driver that works here:

http://www.sakar.com/images/resources/download-driver/cardreaderB.zip

The driver that Sakar has posted for the CR-35TD-R does not work, but the one referenced above does under Windows 98 SE. I have not tested it under Windows 98 gold (the original, pre-SE version).
