Question about Logitech LX7 Cordless Optical Mouse

2 Answers

My logitech lx7 does not track accurately in the left-right axis

When I move my mouse up and down it works fine but moving left and right moves it at an angle of about 45 degrees.

I'm going to throw this one out there just because I had a similar problem...change your mouse pad.

I know sounds dumb, but my daughter got a Webkinz mouse pad for her birthday. It had the thin. matte, plastic coating. Once I figured out that it happened at the same place on the mouse pad I tested it. Sure enough, it always seemed to jump at an odd angle right near the middle.

My guess is that the laser is being messed with by the combination of the matte finish (refracts and diffueses the light source) and a color range in the design (a color in an object is the object absorbing that color and reflecting all other colors). I don't know what color the "invisible" optics use, but it seems there is a color on the mouse pad that is a close enough match. Once I changed mouse pads I had no more problems with the weird movement.

Hope this helps,
Greg B.

Most opticals do not track on smooth white surfaces. It needs textures or color. Try pressing the "CONNECT" button on the bottom of the mouse and on the remote sensor.

Make sure you have the latest drivers from the logitech website.

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/KEYBOARD-and-MOUSE/LOGITECH/Logitech-LX7-Cordless-Optical-Mouse.shtml

Also, make sure that the receiver is within a reasonable proximity of the mouse. I have also found that I get interference if I have placed the receiver near my speakers.

Please rate me if this works.

Sticky mouse

Search for out other postings here at FixYa. The sticky situation is one I had, but it was the actual wear inside the mouse buttons to microswitch contacts. I would have to click numerous times to get my mouse to function. The plastic pads get worn after some intense use. Check for our solutions here in other postings.
