Sony pcg-71315l mother board power on ok cooling fan not working but hard disc,DVD ROM ALL ARE WORKING ok but no display,15.6 screen ok.

Main processor [CPU] do not detect all the other peripherals. Any voltage loss can cause this. Your PCs motherboard need to be checked. It will be best to contact the authorized service centre for Sony; in this case. This is not a user detectable fault.

HP 381865-001

is power getting to other systems like the HDD and cd-rom. if it is then the fan bushings are worn out. it happens over time. if no power to anything then the power supply is toast and will need repaired or the easier thing to do is replace it but only if the cd-rom has no power or the HDD doesnt make any noise. I have observed when a power supply goes bad the fan will twitch just a bit and the cd-rom won't open

HORIZONTAL OUTPUT TRNSISTOR SHORTS WHEN POWER ON TV

ALL the next is with the tv unplugged (NO NO power)
  • resold the jungle (video processor) all around
  • following the horizontal drive pulse path and arriving to the horizontal area just after the horizontal transformer and in the base of the horizontal DRIVER there is a electrolytic capacitor (if this chassis uses this one,) Change it (maybe is dry)
  • solder all components i just told you in the last step. horizontal driver, transformer, etc
  • remember:
  • if a transistor is blowing with no reason (there is a reason: the collector receives 130 volts but cannot hold it forever, It has to be in some place. if the switching pulse doesn't arrive to it the transistor throws this 130 volts and burning itself. i hope it is help full.

Go to the Asus website and download the drivers for this board. It's most likely that it did not come with drivers installed. Hopefully this will fix the problem. Good luck.

Fans and lights come on but the harddrive and cd bays do nothing

If you replaced the power supply did you plug it into the drives. If so then your motherboard is most likely faulty.

Is the 350 watt power supply ok for EVGA 6800 128 mb agp card ?

I would suggest at least a 400 watt power supply as the amount of peripherals you are running will soon take up the 350 watt supply, but go for a 500w as the price difference is negligable.
