Toshiba E-studio 281c Copier Logo
Anonymous Posted on Aug 17, 2011

Our Toshiba e-studio 281c does not get past the "Wait Warming Up" mode. Also shows "Network Initializing". Just started one morning when we turned it on. Only change was when we had a new driver loaded to allow us to print color from the computer. That was several days before. We have tried turning it off and back on several times. We have replace cartridges.

    reloaded driver. Shut down computer and printer. Started up. Printer still shows "Wait Warming Up". Unfortunately, this was not the solution.

In some cases you have to turn it OFF/ON few times to get the copier to the ready mode.-------- So try to turn copier OFF and ON 7 to 8 timers and see if that helps.----------- Every time you off and and on the printer see if its gets to ready mode , if not then again off and on.------- Try this approx 7 to 8 times and see.---------- But if this is not helping that problem relates to low heat .In the copier there is a fuser assembly.This assembly heats inside.When the assembly reach at certain heat temperature, the printer gets to ready mode.-------- In your copier this fuser assembly is not heating to required level, so its just showing this " Wait Warming Up" message on display.---------- So the first possibility for this problem is fuser assembly.---------- Other possibility is heating lamps.---------- The 281c has lamps, not IH coil. In fact, it has 2 lamps, 1 heats middle, and 1 heats outer edges of UFR. My guess is one of your lamps is not coming on. If it's not a burned out lamp, it's the switching regulator that controls the lamp. Bad news... requires LGC bd replacement. The fuser is meeting the requirements for warming up ( certain temp within certain time frame) but since both lamps aren't coming on it never fully heats up.The edge temp thermister only shuts off the lamp when temp exceeds 230 degrees.But in your case this lamps are not heating the fuser to required temperature.,-------- Mostly this are the possible cause of the problem, and fuser assembly and lamps needs to be inspected.------- The copier needs to be taken apart to inspect this parts and tested with meter.To confirm the fault.------------ This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

    The lgc is a board.Its a circuit board.It controls the copy counter and other components of copier.This board in some cases gets short.But testing the lamps first is advisable.--------If lamps are working then fuser assembly needs to be checked.-------------
    This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

What can i do when my copier says wait warming up but it never gets ready?

Have you checked the manual under Troubleshooting?
The only thought I have is this one;
Is the equipment in the energy saving mode (Automatic energy
saving mode)?
Press the [ENERGY SAVER] or [START] button on the control
panel to clear the mode. (It takes a while for the equipment
to become ready.)

Check the color toner cartridge error message appears. I have changed all the color cartridges. Still same problem. Toshiba e- studio 281c

If changed new toner still showing replace toner cartridge, then probably the toner not able to go inside developer or the developer material is worn out.

Can I join a Toshiba 281c to a home group network?

It can be worked with a desktop pc having windows 7 straightly configured to 281c and if the device is shared. Then u can access the desktop pc and browse 281c and send prints. Better to start with as a simple peer to peer connection use TCP/IP and observe that it can be accessed via Internet browser, If the copier utility page appear alright that means ur connected. Good Luck!!
