Question about Gateway Projector 210 Multimedia Projector

Won't turn on

I connect power to the 210. The stand by light flashes slow. I press the standby button, the standby light glows steady and it begins to power up and there is a small about of light coming from the lamp. After about 8 seconds the lamp goes out, the fan spins like it is cooling down and the indicator light flashes fast. After three minutes the unit goes back into ready mode but I can't get it to turn on.

Re: Won't turn on

If the projector starts to output light then goes out that is the lamp. Hopefully you got a good price for the projector the lamp will be around $300. Before you replace the lamp you may try blowing out the projector, dust will cause shut down as an overheat protection. This may at least get it to turn on long enough to go through the menu and see how many hours are on the lamp. Be sure to reset the lamp counter if you do replace the lamp. If the fan blows and the indicators turn on the projector is probably functional.

Re: Won't turn on

If you're NOT still under warrantee you should at least open the projector and look for a blown fuse near where the power cable enters the set. A lot of times you can buy replacement fuses at a local electronic or hardware store and they're easy to replace. Check the fuse. If it is blown, it will be obvious and make sure that the set is unplugged before replacing it. If it blows again, or if it is not blown, your problem is probably in the 'X' volt regulator and you will need professional help with the repairs. You can also check the board where the components are mounted and resoled any that look bad. Brief power outages may cause the remote to turn off on its own. If you are using a surge protector, try connecting the set directly to the wall outlet. In your case it could caused by a blown fuse, a leaky diodes or a bad solder joint at the horizontal drive transformer. All can be replaced at a local electronic or hardware store and they're easy to replace If this does not correct the problem, you may need to have your projector serviced. good luck!

My Gadmei tablet was locked with a security pattern. My kids tried to unlock the tab but after to many attemps it is totally locked. I cannot use the google address to unlock it. Can you please assist...

Try the two button trick. with the tab switched OFF, (not standby) press the volume UP and POWER buttons at the same time and release after 5 or 6 seconds, this should bring you into service menu. Some tabs require a repeat to go on to the 'reset factory default' menu

It is a bit optimistic to think it would. Win XP is old and slow and you need a lot of memory in a thinkpad to watch films

Hi I am Shannon I was using my laptop and then the screen just went white, I was connected to the Internet at the time. every time I try to do something it either shows a box that says The application is...

What you are experiencing seems to be high memory usage. In so, your computer is slowing itself down with the amount of processes it is running.
If this is a older computer, this is understandable as newer programs need more memory.
When you try to switch the computer off, it seems as if it is lagging therefore it isn't quite registering the fact that you want it to turn off.
If you really want to turn it off for good, you can always hold the power button until it turns off. A quick tap will not suffice.

Get a new computer
Upgrade your laptop - try investing in RAM, or a new CPU (A typical computer can run quickly w/ 2gbs of RAM)
Limit the amount of processes/programs you run at a time.

If this isn't the reason, you may have a virus that may be eating all your memory.
Solution: Download and run Malwarebytes Anti Malware. Scan and then remove the virus/bugs/worms that may be present.
