Just bought a used 2002 S500 mercedes. On the display after filling the gas tank. I got a after start flashing on the screen. What does that mean?

#1 reason is running the car low on fuel, like 1/4 tank or lower, the next is running it out of gas completely. The reason for this causing failure is simple, the fuel pump is cooled and lubricated by the fuel it pumps and sits in.

Presume you mean that you fill the tank and even with fuul tank of gas it won't start.. It's your injection system. Get it cleaned.

the filter is on the frame rail under the driver seat. this sounds like it needs an air filter and plugs and wires

You will need to pull the liner down on the right side of the trunk and reach forward toward the gass
filler neck area.there you will find the actuator for the gas door.on the back of the acuator is a knob.just pull back to release.

The reason the gas station pump shuts off is when the fuel reaches the tip of the gas nozzle, so when you are filling your car and the gas nozzle (gas stations pipe) keeps shutting off it means that the pipe that runs to the gas tank is not open completely, what happens is when you pump the gas in the car the supply pipe from the gas tank opening to the tank fills up quickly and this causes the gas station pipe nozzle to shut off, have some body take down the gas tank and have a look at the gas tank opening and also gas supply pipe that runs from the gas filler opening ( on the car body) to the gas tank. Could be the float or it could also be electronic card problem that this float inside the tank that is sending the signal to the marker, or problems contact Latarjet electronica.Thanks

It sounds odd that both cars are experiencing the same problem. This usually indicates a problem with the gas tank not venting properly.
